Have yoiu guys ever had issues about streght of alu wheels? I have to mill some 4-5 mm (of 20mm) of from center of wheel to fit my front wheels properly? Can it be done? I think they have strenght enough even with 15 mm wallthickness.. Comments? Any good laughs

I don't know you're particular wheel. 20mm down to 15mm does'nt seem like that much. But you have to look at the structure around the hub. Not necessarily the remaining thickness of it. I'm planning on taking a quarter inch off of my Vintage 45's this spring. After carefully analyzing it, I feel comfortable it's going to be safe.

Just wondering why? Are you having any rubbing issues with the 275's? Just wondering cause I am planning to add the 275's to my 68 this month.

Wheels are centerline tiype with 12 wheels, and I think they can take it... I´m same time changing my 225-60/15 to 225-50/16, so they get a little smaller... That help cause I have Neg wedge kit..

Yes, the fronts rub a bit when pushed hard. It was very dissappointing to find this out. Vintage only supplies that wheel with a 4.5 offest. I had the TT2's before the Vintage wheels and they had 4.75 offset. They were perfect. No rub issues once I did the drop and the 620 coils. The quarter inch makes the difference. Now I am planning on putting the Baer conversion disks on the front this spring. I'll be curious to see if the mounting location changes after the swap at all. Who knows... maybe I won't have to alter the wheel after all.

Have you thought about rolling the fender lip for clearance? this may give you the little clearance you need.

Just got my fwheels from shop. They took 4mm of the center and now with 225-50/15 they fit perfectly. Made some research done of fenderlip rollers, and there is one shop that makes the job in my area, but I don´t think it´s necessary (30$/fender)

I understand that. But there are ways to go about it. I'm lucky enough to have a guy here that is going to run an analysis on the computer for me.

Yes, it should be considered carefully, but the structure of wheel is very important factor. In my occasion there was material enough, cause they make these same wheels with same castings to diff offsets. I think they can still take the same beating as the rest of the front setup.

My guy did the analysis. I'm golden (lucky).

He calculated a 1G load with 3000lbs on the wheel (alot) and the results were positive. I should be quite safe to machine out the quarter inch I'm looking for.
