What's up guys. I don't post here much, but I read stuff around here alot.

I have a gorgeous laser red 1998 convertible cobra, black top, black leather interior.

Heres what I want. I would like to have about 350 hp rear-wheel if not more - if I can without supercharging - if it's possible, which I figure is around the 400hp mark at the flywheel.

Here is what I have done already:

1. 3.73 gears (yes I know 4.11's are better for a cobra, but it's a daily driver)

2. FRPP Aluminum drive shaft

3. 18x9 Chrome '95 chrome Cobra R's (rear 275X45 front 245X45)

4. Steeda Tri-Ax shifter

5. King Cobra clutch

6. BBK adjustable clutch quadrant kit

7. Mac CAI

8. Steeda u/d pullies

9. Bassani X-Pipe

10. Bassani Cat-Back

11. Iridium V-power spark plugs

12. FRPP 9mm plug wires

13. Air silencer removed

Future mods I've been considering:

1. Pro-M 83 mm polished Mass Air meter

2. Bigger injectors

3. Dyno tune and chip

4. New cams (for more low-end torque and that nice "lopey" sound at idle)

I figured the cams will give me 25-30 hp and hopefully the dyno-tune will give me 25 more hp.

So I'm thinking that all of the mods I've done already, plus the dyno tune and cams will give me about 350 HP to the rear if not more.

What do yall think? am I about right?

How would bigger injectors and the mass air play into things?

Would they help or hinder?

Thanks

Mike :bang:

since it's your daily driver i say supercharge it. you have 3.73's so it'll be perfect

the only way you can get close to 350rwhp is with some serious head/intake work, new springs and valves, some not so "daily driver friendly" cams (high-rpm), alot of electrical/fuel crap like injectors and maf sensors and one hell of a tune. along with some headers/new mid-pipe and you'll probably end up spending the same if not more than a supercharger and you won't have anywhere near the power and you'll lose alot of low-end.

just supercharge it

Cams designed for low-end grunt won't give you a lopey sound. And they'll hurt your upper RPM power. You're simply asking the impossible.

Well, not quite. You're probably putting over 250 hp to the ground now, so I say, JUICE IT. Bang! 350rwhp!

why do you want 350hp? why dont you just gear the car and do all of the proven boltons and some weight reduction along with some acceleration friendly suspension work? I mean are you going to get your rocks off telling everybody you have a 350hp cobra or showing them how quick your 310+ hp cobra is?

I would have to fully agree with this statement. If you cant drive that 350 hp car, why have it. Just make it fast or supercharge it and make it warp speed fast.

get long tube headers.... 3.73's are not much of a difference over stock. seriously get 4.30 gears. gas mileage will not be that different. my cobra with 4.10's get about the same mileage as my wrx. do that, and the 75 shot. thats what im plannin to do as soon as i get a cobra again (hopefully mid april). then get drag radials. you could run high 12's without the spray, then add ur 75 shot and low-mid 12s should be possible. youll have a bout 365hp at the flywheel with the boltons which is prob 300-310 to the wheels. plus the 75 shot you can beat a stock 03 cobra :)
