They make a noticable difference.
The front end feels more solid, as the shock towers can't flex with the support from the Monte Carlo bar.

Everything makes a difference. Each piece you add, you will notice it...

Great addition. Before buying see if you need the straight version or one with the "bow" in the middle.

It will also help keep your shock towers from leaning in towards one another! (Yes, they do that.)

I am guessing what air cleaner you have would determine if you get the straight or the "bow" in the middle type? IF that is not correct what does determine it?

Thanks

You are correct, the air cleaner you run determines the bar needed. My dual quad setup and my Webber setup both require a bar with a "bow" or curved section in order to clear the air cleaner/carb bodies.

They do not work as well with the curve in them, and IMO the straight one looks better but with Webbers I have no choice but to run a curved one.

I was under the impression that the type of distributor you have also played a role in determining if you need a straight or curved bar, am i wrong?

You would be correct good sir. The curved bar makes distributor access easier in general, IMO.

I don't know myself, though I'd say the difference in strength between curved and straight is so negligible (unless maybe you're autocrossing or something like that) that I would just get the curved and be done with it. But, that's my opinion.

I would think that it will fit that combination, but like I said, I don't know for sure.

My MSD distributor set up requires curved. The straight will fit a Mallory distributor when using a 13" air cleaner.
