More EFI problems

I have more efi problems. I have all kinds of wiring diagrams for my 89 HO that i am putting into my 84 cj7. The problem is that a ton of wires are not matching up to my harness. I know i have a mass air harness yet all the mass air harness diagrams are not matching my harnes. Are some of the harneses different? My main engine harness has 2 8 pin connectors one is grey and one is black. These are not the 10 pin harnesses. All the diagrams i have says there should be only one brown harness. Does anybody know what harnnes i have so i can find the right diagrams. Im as frustraited as heck now.

Try posting the wire colors. I do have a full 89 wiring diagram set that I would be glad to email you if I haven't already done so. I would need your email address since it is too big (2.5 Mb) to pass through Stagnet's email gateway.

Thoes are the wire diagrams i have, i bought the helms 89 mustang book. I dont have that brown connector. In place of that brown one I have one black one and one greay one. Both are eight pin. So none of my wires match up to the wires that are in the diagrams. Im thinking that i have an early mass air harnnes. Like an 87-88 harness or something.

Check out the AutoZone wiring diagrams. They may be able to shed some light on your problem.

If the 89 diagrams don't match what you have then open your search to a year before and a year after.

My 90GT has a 91 wiring harness.
Only a couple of color changes and pin locations were different, so far as I could tell.

Boy was I confused though.

could it be a 90 harness? Isn't the air bag connector grey?

If you are talking about the two connectors that are on the driver's side near the firewall on the Mustang and connect the engine harness to the chassis harness, that sounds like a 1990 harness to me. The later harnesses use a single (brown) connector at that location.

This seems especially likely if your 89 Mustang was a late build date.

That sounds right. Mine must be a 90. I think i have it all figured out now. Dang was it confuseing for a while. Seems pretty simple now. Only about 6 wires to hook up: fuel pump relay, water temp sending unit, oil pressure sending unit, and about 4 power wires. Does this sound right?
