OK heres the deal. today i got someone to drive my car down the street so i could actually hear the exhaust since im always driving it. well i thought it sounded really bad. right now i have the magnaflow cat-back(not packs) paired with the mac prochamber. so my ? is if i switch to mac flowpath will i gain or loose hp.
thanks austin

im not sure about the hp between the two mufflers, but im sure it is a very minimal difference. i am running the flowpaths now with an o/r h and take it from me, you will be happy with the sounds, and the power.

if you want a definitive answer, go with magnaflows.

What's the difference between Magnaflow and Magnapack mufflers? Packs are louder or something right? What about performance? I'm thinking when I get my 04 GT, I'll do a catback sooner rather than later. I was thinking of this for end exhaust JBA headers, magnaflow cat'd X and then either magnaflow or magnapack catback. What do you guys think?

My Magnaflows sound AWESOME with a Bassani O/R X pipe and Motorsport shorty headers. The Prochamber, like most mid pipes, will give any exhaust a different sound that may or may not be desireable. I had the Prochamber with the magnaflows, and I wasnt happy with how it sounded either, but with the X pipe, it turns heads and gets compliments.

Dont waste your money on JBA headers. They are known to crack at the flange. Save up until you can do some quality longtubes. Despite the fact that I have the stock manifolds (Thanks again JBA! :notnice: ) with a Bassani catted X-pipe and Flowpath catback, i would say go with MAC or BBK Long tubes, MAC pro chamber, and SLP Catback. That would be Make-your-neighbors-pack-up-and-move-away-kinda-loud!!

I have the Magnaflow on mine with an O/R X from Bassani, and its great, sometimes its not loud enough when I'm cruising with some of my friends, but louder isin't always faster! One of my buddies setup is almost identical to mine with the X and the Mac, its loud as crap, but i pull on him even though he has 4.10s.... Could be a Driver difference :D But I'd have to go with Magnaflow or the Magnapacks if i did it over again.

Are you planning on replacing the whole catback or just the mufflers? I have thought about trying to see if Flowmaster or Mac has a muffler that is a direct bolt in(same size/offset) to the magnaflow catback(not the Packs.) I really miss that chambered sound with my current catback, but I would like to keep the rest of the Magnaflow catback becasue of the fit and quality.

MAC MAC MAC MAC!!!! Meanest muffler!!! I put magnaflow tips on my though... Chrome pipes rust... So imagine... 1997 Mustang GT Vert... Off Road H pipe... Mac Mufflers, Magnaflow 3.5 inch tips!!! Oh and getting a new motor... And turbo!!!! Oh yes so sweet!!!
