more power for less

I recently bought a used 2004 v6 convertable. it rides nice and the power is ok. i am not made of money so are there little things to improve horsepower, that dont cost an arm and a leg. any comment will be helpful.

True dual exhaust would make it sound better, slight increase in power & fuel economy. My car now idles at about 800 rpm since I got the Flowmaster/intake/throttle body spacer added all at once. It gets about 1-2 mpg better than before, as long as I'm not redlining it from stoplight to stoplight.

Installed restrictor plate in auto v6

Installed the plate, did help very much, after i removed it and put just the gasket back on, everytime i start the car and then turn it off i hear water sounds going through pipes and the fan buzzing??

what could be causing this?
