moroso valve covers

I got the moroso valve covers for x-mas and just did the initial fit up. They fit awesome and they are by far the nicest alum. fabricated valve covers I have ever seen. Completely flat, no warping, great welding. Here are a couple pics. First one is the Moroso sitting next to the fox cover I had on the car. 2nd one is the Moroso after 5 minutes of polishing sitting next to the standard finish they came.

They come without it so you can choose where you want to put it. I am going to the welder's now to have it welded in place.

those look awesome! whoever did those welds definately knew what they were doing, aluminum is a PITA to weld in my experience. Nice seams, and it looks like they will polish up nice.

Before you bring them down, i would give them a sturdy once over with some break cleaner. I just finished an intro to mechanical engineering techniques class (read: welding and shop) at school and my professor couldn't stress enough how clean aluminum should be before you weld it.

can't wait too see them on the engine, post pics!

Will those clear the intake (cobra or the like) with out any mods or do you have to run a spacer.

You nailed it. IMO, aluminum is easy to weld, but only if you take your time and prep the material properly. Since Al is so much softer, I think it flows extremely easy as long as you're on top of your heat control (I'm talking TIG here, not MIG). Honestly, I think SS is much tougher to weld given equal thicknesses.

Oh yeah, nice valve covers! I've always been impressed with Moroso's fab quality. Thier Al parts always come out looking good.

Man those are really nice looking. If I remember from Chris' post they were very expensive. I have the $65 AFM plated steel covers because I'm cheap right now.

They look good. It's interesting how they more closely match the stock covers than most of the fabricated ones that are more boxy. Definitely more work into these. Be sure to post final pics!

Got the driver's side on. With any luck will have the ps. on tomorrow. Got it polished up pretty good. The first pic is with the valve cover sitting next to my chrome alternator.
