most embarrasing loss

I got too excited while racing an STi, I punched the gas and all my wheels did was spin during 2nd gear. I saw him just pull away. I felt like such a ricer saying, "you got me man, I couldn't get traction." :nonono:

On the street. Early 90s Talon with a T-60 turbo and 24PSI(pump)....my car made 248RWHP at the time and he pulled right away from me.

On the track, I guess it was a turbo 240sx...I was cammed and making 274RWHP, trapping 104. I got him through the 1/8, but then he would catch and BLOW by me like I was setting still at the VERY end and would beat me by 1-2 tenths. He was trapping 111, so he definatly had some powa!

I dont recal really loosing to anyone at the track NOW. ET for ET that is...1-2 times I was asleep at the line and got beat. On the street I havnt lost yet...but I dont race much at all either.

i dont recall any embarassing losses i tend not to pick races with smaller cars lol. Normally its not me anyways picking the races its always some trans am or something and then i decide what the heck i go for it but lose lol.

well here was an almost lost
i about got beat by an f350 at the 1/8th mile track he had me a good 3/4 of the way and then i finally grabbed 3rd and walked by. i ran an 8.8 to his 8.9 i out trapped him by 6mph he just smoked me off the line.

gotta love dsm's. i just got a 91 Eclipse GSX that im building into a track car. these dam motors can handle so much abuse its not even funny, i have a guy that continues to attempt at killing his so he has an excuse to build a stroker, took him 33psi on a 57trim to finally do it, and the only thing that let go was the head gasket because the heads lifted from the block at those levels, but his wife neednt know that. ill prolly do the same, run the stock 2.0 into the ground and build a 2.4L stroker which will use a BB turbo (still undecided) and be an awesome autocross setup.

I almost lost to an early 90's civic hatch. it was very close. It turned out he has a fully built engine and a gt35r on it, with a front mount. It was a beast. Front wheel drive killed him, and his turbo lag didnt help his cause either. We went from about 20 to 120 *at the track* and I only had about 10 yards on him. I've got owned by an s4 while being supercharged. He put at least 25 yards on me and it could have been more. Twin k04's on race gas. I've beaten 4 gt35r turbo guys, granted they probably have more potential than me, it just didnt work out for them. Srt4, a4, civic hatch, gti. I'm sort of proud of those, even though they are 4 bangers hanging with my s/c v8!

*edit*

Oh yeah, and a 90's mr2 turbo with a gt35r put about 10 cars on me. He was pushing 550ish on race gas, so he claimed.. and it looked like he was right. Good thing I have one sitting in my driveway for my project car. :D

3sgte FTW

lost to an RSX base model with a fart can on it cuz I had no traction on my SH***Y A$$ bald Kumo tires. The worst part about losing to the car is him and his friend now think that their car is the fastest thing in the world cuz they beat a mustang. They probubly went home and told all their friends that my car had like "700HP with a quad turbo kit, duel superchargers and a 500 HP shot of NOS yo." God I hate ricers........

Had a turbo Civic Si smoke me on the 1/8 track. Also got embarrassed by a SRT4 on the highway...I later found out the thing had like 380hp to the wheels. Lost to another SRT4 on the highway. We were head to head for a while, but I'm not even gonna say what speed he started pulling on me at.

If the mods in your sig are up to date, you're going to hang with a practically stock srt every time! And from a roll, they flourish. I freakin' hate those cars. I mean.. a ricer designed domestic. I can't decide if I'm just upset that they made their little four cylinder something to watch out for or if I'm disappointed in our gas chugging v8 =(

I lost to a nissan sentra turbo with slicks, I had just bought the car and i had no idea how to launch the car so he got me by about three cars and beat me from light to light. I was gaining on his ass when i finally got traction though. :D

I've lost to a 120HP civic because i forgot to turn off the traction control and it kicked in badly on the 1-2 shift. Even though i was floored, my car went nowhere and the civic came farting by. I was so embarrassed i just shut it down and turned off.

Now i know to turn the T/C off when i'm gonna play

When I was NA/auto:

Lost BADLY to a WS6 my first week owning the car.

Lost to a Lexus IS300

I didn't lose but barely beaten a Lincoln Navigator to a merge.

Final straw - BMW M3 vert was tailgating me on a two lane road, I floored it, and he switched lanes and passed me easily. One week later, I ordered a KB 1.7L.

me

I lost to my buddies 2000 Mustang GT, his only mod was weld-in Magnaflows. :(

We were on a freshly blacktopped road, nice and oily on a hot day. He had gotten new tires the week before. Mine....well they are not so new and I spun on launch, the IRS started doing it's nice hopping thing, by the time I let off and started to hook it was a joke how far ahead he was. That was before my stiffer springs and shocks, it's better now.

I once lost to a late-70's/early-80's Camaro at an 1/8th mile track once, in my old bolt on 5.0L LX. This guys car was full of bondo, ran a junk old 305 with a bunch of Canadian Tire chrome parts and stickers galore....it was really cheezed out.

It was my first run of the day, with not practice runs and the Christmas tree lit up and he took off. I was so worried about wheel spin I made an attempt to leave really easy by bogging it out of the hole and I stalled it. :bang:

I rolled out to about the 15ft mark, started it up again and took off hard with the tires-a-blazin. He ended up running a 10.4 or so and I clocked in at about 13.5 (which would have been a decent quarter mile time) :D.

....it was still a faster time than a lot of the Imports running that day though. ;)

When i had my 95GT ( gt40p heads, e-303 cam, headers, exhaust, TB, cold air, and shift kit ) I barely edged out a Lincoln Mark 8 merging on the interstate. Very close race. Errr...*By interstate i mean track*

I have a bone stock 02 gt. Everything kicks my ass from Eclipses to the Camaro who just dusted me the other day. The bad part is I have custom mufflers that make a lot of noise so everyone thinks my car is faster than it really is LMAO. I'm making a sign that going to say "WILL WORK FOR GO FAST PARTS". And I'm going to stand on the corner.

1st Gen Miata. 1.6L own.T me from 40+

no body panels on it and it had a T25 pushing 18psi... so roughly 230whp and 1800lbs

nearly half the weight of my GT with me and my crap in it lol

btw the driver is an autocrosser and he managed to get it to go 8.50@83mph on BFG G-Sports... i think that with a set of drag radials and him actually yanking gears it will go 8.1-8.2@85-86mph... its FAST
