In the 7 years I have owned the 626, I have changed the oil, replaced the tires and replaced the battery. Thats it! Original clutch, original brakes and just turned 118,000 last week. Try that with a domestic. ...

I've seen plenty. My wife's last car was a 96 Sable with 152,000 miles(sold 4 a minivan) and my wife is no friend to an automobile. Never a problem and it ran better/faster than any Sable I'd ever driven before. My 7 year old GT has been dead reliable since new. I feel if any car is serviced regularly, it will last.

Also from my list.

2000 Mercury Sable(mom's work car) -almost 200,000 miles and runs like a champ
1997 Ford Explorer(Inlaws) -she drives it very hard and it runs great (over 100,000 miles)

My wife drives an Escape Limited, which she loves, and I love my Mustang just as much.

We are not brand loyal, but bought our cars based on value for the dollar.

I got my car brand new for a little over $22K. She got hers new for little over $23K.

I couldn't have got a better sports car for the price, and she couldn't have got a better small SUV for the price.
