most hp on stock gt internals

i have an 02 gt and i am planning on going novi 2000 mongoose kit. my goal was 400 rwhp because that is the most people are telling me the motor will handle with stock internals. but i just found a guy with 557 flywheel hp, and 505 rwhp, but he doesnt list any internal upgrade. how is this possible? here is the link

Id limit yourself to 400 if you wanna be safe. you CAN go higher, but even with a dead-on tune, something can break. Personally when I wanted FI, I was aiming for 375-385.

TonyG is running 11.30s with around 455rwhp on stock bottom end on his 99GT I dont know the condition of his engine but he seems pretty pleased about it to me.

I used to be dead set on the 400rwhp rule of thumb too, but slowly but surely, there are more and more people out there proving this baseline wrong. I say run it hard and see what happens, but as already stated, keep an extra nest egg aside for a forged short block, should anything happen.

I would get the air/fuel ratio checked , but if you ordered your kit from MPH then 99 percent of the time , the tunes gonna be dead on .....

What happens if it does break? You take a big chance on ruining the heads, cams, and supercharger in my case. You can get metal shavings in everything, Then you need a short block heads cams and maybe a new Sc. Not worth it.

This isn't always true, but for the most part i'd say if you have the mone to make 400rwhp, you have the money to upgrade the internals and have the piece of mind, knowing u wont blow anything. (or at least less likely to)

Running 433rwhp @9psi on 91 pump gas for 2 1/2 years and still runs like new.
Passed the smog check for 2nd time like a new car with close to zero emissions, no burning oil or whatever

I've ran over 400rwhp for about 4 years with most of it being at 460rwhp. Now I've been over 500rwhp for over a year now and still going strong. Same person that tuned TonyG's car tuned mine

Just a Borla cat-back from saleen, stock h-pipe.
Now using Chicane center exhaust pipes but made no difference fr my smog check last month
