motive pro 5.0 3.90 gear question

i have a 99 cobra and swaping the gear, its not a drag car but its not a daily driver either, its just my weekend car. i had a rear end guy tell me 4.10 is to much and i wont keep the tires down in 1 and 2, then he also told me that the motive pro 5.0 3.90 gear hasnt been around long enough to be proven good. he suggested a 3.73 but im thinking im going to want more then that, so what i need is to find out does anyone have a 3.90 and how is it, does it whine, and are they happy with it?

For a stock '99 Cobra you'll want the 4.10's. The Motive 3.90's are a good gear and if set up correctly are as good as any, but you'll kick yourself for not going lower...
