motor mounts wtf?????

correct me if im wrong, but motor mounts are supposed to keep an engine in place..... i havent even messed with the motor mounts... anyways, i was out in the garage trying to get the bracket that holds the wiring on for the starter... i got a good grip on it... and pulled upward (to unloosen the nut, it is WAY overtorqued) and i end up picking up the damn shortblock and the tranny with it.... thats just weird, do i need new engine mounts?

I would check the bolts to make sure they are tight. If they look cracked (I'm pretty sure they are), I would replace them. Relatively easy 1-2 hour saturday project to get them replaced.

what is the advantages on getting solid motor mounts?

You won't need to buy a blender for your kitchen, just put the bowl or pot on the passenger side floorboard.

well what would happen? i would assume you could "feel" the engine more, but whats the advantages?

it keeps the flex in the craddle down while under heavy torque loads and put's that to the wheels im useing them for my stroker.

so, will i keep my torque better? will if snap me back in my seat more? what are the obvious advantages

well with the stock mounts when you rev the engine you can see it twist but wiht the solids it stays still.Thus that wasted torque is sent thru the power train rather than thru the craddle. it ties in wiht the 10-15% power loss due to friction etc.......

Get Vert mounts..... they are still isolated so they absorb some vibration, but they are captured (IE THEY CAN'T PULL APART.)

I say No to solids on the street ...it sucks
