Motor Mounts?

I have an exhaust leak, which has been caused by shot motor mounts (so I have been told). I am new to the mustang scene, so I am not familiar with online parts dealers. Where (or how much should they cost) can I get all the motor mounts? Thanks.

The ones in the ebay link are made from 3/16" steel. I was wondering what the ones you linked to were made out of (didnt see it on the page). Also, is that kit all of the mounts, or is it a kit for one side only? Thanks.

OK, just got back from a repair shop, guy said he will do it all (parts and labor) for around $300. I dont have a lift or the know how to do it myself, and a friend I use for a lot of stuff said that it would be more than that if he were to help me with it (no lift). Does 300 sound like a decent price? Thanks.

I don't think the mounts are causing the leak. Mine were shot and my LTs didn't leak.

Your sig implies you do not have headers. You can do the install with help from others with jack stands and floor jack. I got OEM Ford mounts from the dealer for about $26 each + shipping.

I was told that there was an exhaust leak where the h pipe joins the manifold (not sealed right). I know the exhaust is loose because every now and then (cranking or when bogged a little) the exhaust will shake and hit something (frame or body not sure). The guy said this was due to shot motor mounts. The motor is shaking, which has caused everything with the exhaust to mess up. I am gonna get a mechanic friend to look at it and give me his opinion. I may try to tackle it myself, but will see who I can get to help me. So does the motor mounts sound like logical thinking, or is it gonna be a waste of money? Thanks.

I don't doubt the mounts are shot. Just hard to believe they are causing the leak. Change mounts, loosen exhaust connection and then retighten. Both problems should be solved.

I purchased the car off my brother (who put the exhaust on). He said that he knew exactly what the problem was. There is one bracket that is very hard to get to that has came loose. It causes a slight hole where the leak is, and also the rattle. The guy that told me the mounts were shot seemed like he may have been just trying to get me to leave cause he didnt want to mess with it. I looked at the motor today as it was being cranked and also revved up, not very much movement at all. The mechanic I had look at it couldnt even find the rear o2 sensors, so I am beginning to think I have been mislead and misinformed, and that nothing is wrong besides the very small leak. I also mentioned a lean condition possibly caused by the leak. A friend (just got out of college studying the 4.6 ford motors) said that the MAF meter is a little larger than stock, causing the lean condition and that there is nothing to worry about. I am gonna have him take a look at the motor and mounts and go from there. I am all about saving money (gonna try to do some touch up painting, and mystic isnt cheap), so I dont wanna do a bunch of stuff that will have no effect. Thanks everyone.
