i believe a true motorsport speedo is a 160mph speedo, the 140's are just factory stock on Gt's and Lx 5.0s

If it is a 140mph version it is probably the old Ford Motorsport version of the '79-'86 cars.

I have one and I am keeping it.

Nope. Mine matches my 79 turbo dash unit gauges and says Ford Motorsport on it. If I can find it i will dig it out and take a pic.

And yes it is old. I think I bought mine back in 84? I saw it first in one of those Mustang HiPerf magazine like books that was basically a bunch if FMS tech articles and had a small version of the catalog in the book.

EDIT: Mine is black with white leter ing. The Km marking inside the mph markings are green. It says Ford Motorsports right below the trip odometer and the PN is E5ZM-17265-A
