I picked up a set of Motorsport Headers for my 89 last summer. I am finally getting around to install them and ran into a problem. They look shorter than the factory one I took out. The collector is raised up. Guy swears these are for a Foxbody but I don’t think so. I have the same headers on my 86 and did not have to modify my mid pipe to fit. Any idea what these are from?

Almost like they are for a truck or something but not a Fox.

They don’t look correct to me.

The pass side also looks to have an EGR bung on it that has been blocked off.

pulled out the motorsport catalog. A few offerings for vehicle applications for shorty headers. It’s likely not a fox header

I started googling some of the 5.0 headers but not many pics. I was curious if they were the E50 headers

BTW, the M-9430-C95's will also fit the M-9430-P91's; only have to plug the EGR port.
The reverse will not fit because the M-9430-P91 has no EGR port.

Yeah, I have not found a lot of pictures either on the net. What year catalog is that? I stopped by my moms on Sunday and picked up my 96 Motorsport catalog but I have not had time to look through it yet. I did messaged the guy I bought them from and he basically gave me the finger. He said these headers are for my application and that I need to modify my mid-pipe to use them. Wrong

That's the 2003 Motorsport (really ford racing) catalog.

I have the '89 and '93 showing up on my doorstep tomorrow, so I can take a look in those. I've been trying to collect them. I also have '87.

I think the key to identifying the application is to see what vehicle used this feature by googling (or going on ebay) and finding pics of the OEM headers for the listed headers above like the F150 and the explorer. I don't think they are for the 94-95 as the EGR bung is in a different spot.

On yours, the bung is on the pass side header

However, in googling F150 manifolds, it appears the bng is on the driver's side

Googled 1995 F150 headers. Found this aftermarket set. These look very similar to the construction of the header you have and bung is on pass side.

Googled the T50's. Doesn't seem to match the aftermarket headers above. The bung is also on the opposite side.

Here's the T58. This doesn't look like them either. Unless they changed something over the years.

These are from the 1991 Motorsport catalog.
Part numbers if you want to Google some and see if they match up?

Well I put the factory driver side header back on tonight and moved the car outside. I missed my daily driver. Thanks for the pictures. I have spent the last hour searching some of the part numbers listed and found nothing so far

Here are a couple of other p/n's for Mustang shorty headers that I haven't seen posted yet. These are from a 1994 Motorsport catalog.

M-9430-A58 for 1986-93 with 351W
M-9430-N95 for 1994 Mustang 5.0L

They are both highlighted as being "NEW" for 1994.

I was searching last night again and did not find anything that had that bung on the passenger side. I wonder if that was added at some point and I need to focus on the stubby driver side manifold instead. Sigh....

Do you have a closeup of that bung showing the welding?

I just noticed the T50 and T58 headers have the bungs on both sides.

Those headers look so damn close to these headman. I have to believe they are F150 or bronco headers
