mounting fender badges with 3m tape

The body shop filled the holes through which the pins in my running horse fender emblems mount.

What I want to do is grind off the pins from the emblems and mount it with
3m tape...Does anyoneknow what tape exactly I might need?

What thickness? What specific model tape or whatever?

And where to get it.

Thanks

I bought the 1" wide stuff from JC Whitney several years ago to reattach the wide side moldings on my ex 79 mustang. It works just fine. I had some left over and used it again to join the 2 halves of my new fiberglass tub/shower unit when I remodeled the bathroom 3 years ago. No problems there either. I'm sure you can pick up som 3M stuff at a auto paint supply store.

Yes the red backing 3M is the best. Use an alcohol based product to prep the area first. Use a razor to trim around ebmlems and make it look clean. To really make it stick apply a little heat with a heat gun or hair dryer. Do not over heat and melt emblem or paint, and away you go
