I just installed an MSD ignition kit on my car and the MSD 6AL ignition box is making electrical noise that I can hear in the car. I isolated it to the box itself and it is not coming from the speakers or anything. With the hood open when you put your ear close to the box you can here the same noise coming from the box that you hear in the car. I mounted the coil right beside the box on the left side against the fender. Is this normal, and is there anything I can do to stop the noise, Thanks.

Is the MSD 6Al A new unit or 2nd hand one. These units do make some noise. They are like electrical light ballast. They make a hummmmming nosie. Mine was brand new and hummmmed also. Best bet is to call MSD and ask if this is suppose to happen.

MSD Coils are Notorious for a Buzzing/Humming sound.
