I bought a S/C fox Body.... And it has a MSD box 2 retard timing when its boosting... My question is do I need that or can I tune for it? I would rather not have it and tune for it because the engine bay looks so clusterfobic already.. I was gonna re-wire it 2 a better place but If I can do without it that would be nicer...

Back the wagon up. You got a Supercharged fox III?
Did I miss the thread on this?
You still have your old stang? Last I heard you wanted a super-400 CI motor...........

Intentional or not, that was a great pun. Clusterphobic is a cool word, kinda like craptastic.

How much boost do you run? In general I'd keep the box - even fox III's dont like a lotta' boost, especially when it's over 100*F outside. Toss it inside the car or in the fender if it bothers ya.

And get us some pics of the new stang. :nice:

Well I bought this car 2 be my new dd! Ima sell the my Grand Prix get about 1k out of it and stop having a car a payment so I can get 2 work on the 95 alot sooner....Its a 91 GT with a 140k miles on it... All it has is a catback, equal length headers and a Vortec supposably pushing 7lbs..... Ill post pics of it later..... I already bought an upper and lower intake, TB, off road x-pipe, intercooler, boost gauge and a wideband... just waiting for it 2 get here 2 install and after I pass emissions...

I was thinking of doing that and upping the boost 2 12lbs(with a BOV) and stop modding....Whats the most boost these cars can handle? So I have 2 keep the Retard Box?

Interesting idea mang. We look forward to pics.

With boost there are too many factors at hand to throw a number out. You should have forged slugs but otherwise I'd consider things to be about the same in terms of power handling as a 94-95.
Just remember to not start breaking your DD.

I like your idea to keep the box. Otherwise you might end up running locked timing and that kinda sucks (but it's not as bad as it is on 94-95's). If you can tune it, that'd be neat - having a retard module take a crap could really hurt.

Hey Guero, if it's a driver I'd get it over to a tuner to check AFR and maybe get you a "safe" tune as well. No sense in blowing up the driver car, ya know. :)

The only reason I say to take it in is because of the heat ya'll see and the fact that it is a "new to you" type car. It's money well spent in my opinion.

I stil have the Grand Prix....Im still driving that... I already ordered a Wideband to check for fuel. I know Im running lean though cuz there is no fuel smell but more like lean smell.... But I will be doing all the bolt ons then tuning it...

335 hp and only trapping 106!!!!! FTL!!!! LOL!! I better be trapping higher if I can pull those numbers, Otherwise Im gonna have 2 up the boost lol!
