msd distributor cap

I just came from discount auto parts and while I was their I seen an msd distributor cap for 25 bucks. In any way is this distributor cap better than stock or is it just a waste of money?

Sure it's better than stock....it should have brass terminals which don't corrode like aluminum terminals. You won't notice any gains whatsoever unless the cap you have on there now is corroded or damaged in some way. But yes, it is better than stock.

thanks for the info, i guess i wont be buying that because my stock distribuor cap looks new.

I bought the MSD cap and rotor kit for 19.98 at Advanced auto parts. Its just a little tune up item. No biggie.

FMS makes a heavy duty cap that has Brass terminals in it.

And one can get the Nascar series of some line of parts at CSK, which has brass terminals. It was about 10 bucks, IIRC.
