whats the difference in a carbd and efi dizzy? is it anything you can do to get one to work.. i bought a msd one today for a 302 at a good deal.. just wondering if i can use it still or just turn it over and make a buck on it.. thanks.

The EFI distributor has no spark advance mechansim. If you got it to run, the spark would stay locked at whatever base timing you set the distributor for.

EFI cars use the PIP signal to tell the computer to advance the timing and trigger the fuel injectors. Carb distributors do not have a sensor compatible with the computer.

Most carb distributors use a set of weights and springs to control the spark advance along with a vacuum diaphram to advance the spark.
