MSD Plug Wires

About 4 yrs ago when I was ready to install the MSD wires the straight boot
ends rubbed on my headers so I contacted MSD and asked if the wires I received were right for my engine, or did they make a different end for wires that would not rub on my headers . MSD replied back telling me that the clip in the boot and the boot were bendable and that they had designed them that way so to go ahead and bend them to gain the clearance I needed around my headers.

I've pulled the wire 3 or 4 times since I've installed them and they hold the shape I originally bent then in, but if you wanted to straighten back to the way they came you could.

I wanted to go w/the MSD wires, but I went w/the Accel 8.8mm 300+ wires instead because I didn't want to deal w/the bending of the ends.

Without staring some sort of pissing contest here which believe me I’m not but is it really that hard to center the boot end in between the header openings by lifting or pushing on the boot?
I’ve actually had a harder time removing a boot that is stuck to a plug than I’ve ever did centering the MSD boot, but maybe that’s just me.

:stupid: I think people over complicate the situation, just put the boots on the plugs if they rub on the header bent until they don't. That’s all, there aren’t any tricks.

My MSD's have the straight boots and when I put them on some were a little to close to my headers for comfort so I just got creative on the wires with a few zipties and they work sweet now. I never knew you could bend the straight boots! That rules. I'm going to try it. I always thought if you were yanking on it too much you would just break the terminal or something. Ha! I learn something new everyday. As far as MSD being a quality product, I think they dominate. I have MSD everything and I've never had a lick of trouble. As far as just wires go, Anything thats lager than stock that is low resistance from a reputable company like FRPP, Accel, MSD, Taylor, Mallory etc. should be just fine.
