MT ET Street Radials on steel rims???

I'm tight on money and really need a set of DR's. I am looking at getting a set of 275/50/15 MT ET Street radials mounted on a 15x8 rim. I am wondering if I am able to mount those on a 15x8 steel rim? I will save up money for some Welds, but in the mean time, will a steel rim be ok to use?

I ran MT et streets on the cheap bart steel wheels. Don't see where it'll be that big a difference between the et street and the radials.

Will the 275's be too much for my car? Should I look at a different set/size of drag radials, or will the 275-50-15 MT Drag Radials be a good match for my car.
