Muffler and Springs???

I have an 03 V6 (of course).
I was looking at this web site http://www.3.8mustang.com/performance/
for lowering springs and exhaust. I would like the car to sit lower. Has anyone tried the springs offered at the web site or know of any other deals out thier for lowering? Will a 2 inch drop rub vs a 1.5 inch drop?

Also I would like to put a more throaty sounding muffler on their than stock, but dont want the pissed off weed eater sound at 2000 RPM, can anyone suggest a replacement muffler?

The best sounding exhaust set up I have heard -- well, closest to a V8 as you're going to get -- is stock shorties, off-road h-pipe, original flowmaster 40s. Sounded awfully menacing for a V6.

Eibach springs are alright. I haven't heard anything bad aside from a couple years ago when their springs were sagging, but that pissed alot of people off so I'm sure they've fixed it since then.

If you drop it 2" you will also need camber / caster plates in order to align the front end and if you have steep drive ways you will have to take them at an angle to avoid dragging. Check out the Ford C springs, they give it a nice rake and you won't need CC plates. On the exhaust I like Magnaflow best, a deep mellow tone. All 6'ers will get a little ricey in the upper rpm range.

Will a 1.5 drop require CC's?
Does it make a difference between appearance on the 1.5 and 2 inch drop? Does the 2 look better?

I've heard you probably will need CC plates with a 1.5" drop. 1.25" seems to be the limit. As for how they look that's a matter of opinion. I wanted mine to set lower but not be so low it knocked ants heads off so I went with the C's. I had Eibachs (2"drop) on a Camaro and didn't like them. It was to low and made it a pain to drive.

Get the eibach springs that are 1.5", it's more then enough and get the custom H-pipe with magna flow muflers, sounds pretty sweet. If you go with Flowmaster it's going to sound ****y.

I got 1.5" Eibach Springs and sometimes i bottom out when driving over the speed bumps. Magnaflow sounds soo sweet i had guy ask me is it a cobra " I wish" I had mine magnaflow exit before the axle under the car. If you visit www.mustangworld.com u can find out what people have on thier car.

Before you drop the car 2", find some pictures of cars dropped that much and make sure that's what you want. 2" is a lot, and a lot of people think it looks way too slammed. I've got 1" and it looks just about right to me. I still scrape my Y-pipe on speed bumps if I'm going too fast, and the alignment shop was "just barely" able to get the front end back where it needed to be (no C/C plates).

No complaints from my BBK springs. Ride is just a touch firmer than stock, and I haven't had any problems with bottoming or sagging.

Most of the "High Performance" exhaust systems that I've heard on V6's sound REALLY raspy/ricey in the upper RPM's.

No be clear, that car has more than just exhaust, but from experience, the take-offs aren't nearly as raspy as most aftermarket exhaust setups.

anythign other then flows or mac on a v6 sounds awful

go to youtube and check out magnaflow videos for the v6
compared to flows
i run a custom exhaust with flows no h or x pipe and love it

an h or x pipe will not make a performance difference since our engines are even firing

Well, it comes down to personal preference. I don't want my car to be REALLY loud anyway, so I think the take-offs offer a decent increase in volume while still keeping the rasp down. Most "loud" V6's I've heard sound like complete crap... usually OK @ or near idle, but wind them up, and they almost always sound really thin and raspy. That's why I like the take-offs... they seem less prone to the typical V6-rasp, and some of that is due to keeping the volume/flow down a little.

But, like I said, personal preference.

I hear ya, good point too! I had Take-off's installed and it just was not loud enough for me. And your right, they don't have that 2k drone at all.
