Ok I cannot afford a catback system right now. I want to just replace the mufflers only. I know Im much noting much if any hp by doin this but I want my car to be louder. Iplan on using the stock GT exhuast. Can anyone reccomend any mufflers mainly the size ie 2 1/4" offsest inlet outlet..case size etc...I figure for $100 I can get two mufflers and install it myself at work....being a single dad I really cant spare the extra $150 or so for a cat back...

You can get a couple of flowmaster, or some aluminized Magnaflows for like 100-130 or something like that, or if you go to the corral.net classifieds you might find some used ones for cheap, also get 2 1/2" and just reduce them so you can upgrade the rest of the exhaust with the same mufflers later.

I have some Hooker AeroChambers. I dont remember the size, but I think they only come in one size. And they sound better than flowmasters, with no drone.

There isn't really aneed to increas the diameter of the tubing in your cat-back - stock is stainless already so you're ahead of the game if you just want to go with mufflers. The stock diameter is 2.25".

If your running the stock H with the cats just delete the mufflers all together.....car sounds awesome at idle and great under load........I ran it like that until I decided to mod it.......loved the sound....and on the single dad

Yea, I ran mine like that with pipe coming out the side, then with turndowns. I liked the side pipes better.

i have a clip if anyone wants to hear it.

Leave stock mufflers on and get some offroad mid pipe , changing mufflers alone will give you a little more loudness but mid pipe is whole different story.

QFT. The biggest difference for me came from my O/R H-Pipe, and they can be had for around $150. Or you could pay a muffler shop to just cut your cats of and replace it with pipe.

Yea when I installed "catback" haha on it was little bit louder but after offroad H WOW that is all I got to say . Except this: don't cut factory H pipe cause you may need it for inspection.
ps: getting them posts green hah? ahahha it's 2000+ already

I would try the NEW CHERRY BOMBS just to see what kind of sound you would get and it would be diff from others
