Yea, not saying these cars cant be quick, but lets get real, without forced induction, those engines just dont make enough power.

I have a coworker with an Si that makes about 450hp on race gas @ 28psi. Only makes about 350lbs of torque, and the power band only ramps up and makes power between 6K and 9K. Great on the strip with slicks, really weak on the street. Only makes about 350hp on his street tune with 93. I suspect my new build for my 91 will tromp him pretty hard in street v.s. street setup. He'll get me on the track though. Course I plan to keep my A/C, PB and PS. Where as his is gutted.

Yea, I mean that is definitely possible, but your average s*** talking civic owner doesnt have that done. Thats someone who would have built a nice car no matter what it was; civic, mustang, camaro, etc. Those people you can respect and if you get beat you keep your mouth shut. 95% of the time, our cars are faster ($ vs. $).

h2b swap in a light stripped eg hatch, with a little motor work (bolt ons) will destroy a bolt on mustang, and will hang with a h/c/i car with ease.

race him and find out who gives an f if you lose?

if your afraid to lose, then you should never race anyone. go to the strip once, get your ass kicked all night, and you don't care anymore. since i went to the strip last year, i could care less if i lose or win. racing is just fun if your truely interested in it.

i wish people would stop the street racing bitchin too. jesus christ, not everyone wants to go through the hassle of racing at the strip. real world occurs, street racing happens, and it is not bad if your not retarded about it. now keep in mind i said if your not retarded.

lastly, how do you guys even keep up with the acronyms for those chit boxes? everytime i hear that breed spoken of, i am more and more confused as to wtf they have. i use to kinda loosely get it, b16 is a 1.6l, ect. now it translates to nothing for me h2b... hugs two balls?

Yeah the fast ones are pretty rare. I've ridden in the car a lot, but I think the power band in it would drive me crazy. Deader then a doornail below 6K, then it wakes up and screams. He usually bounces off the limiter a couple of times before he can shift it since it revs so fast once the boost kicks in. Most of the Hondas around here are crap boxes with a CAI and a Autozone muffler. They are easy to pick out since the drivers usually start to drive like a jackass once they see me in one of my rides.

So true... when someone has something to prove... means they're not all that fast. A lot like in the wildlife how some animals huff and puff when they're "skeeeeered" lol

Honestly I was 20 once I understand how it can happen. Unless your accelerating to the exact speedlimit for that road then stopping youre illegal and retarded and people die, often times the innocent bystander. Anyone who would like to debate me how its ok, please feel free, but I can tell you the mods will lock the thread with a quickness.
end rant.

Now back on the Honda. They can be quick if done right. Ive seen 10 sec ones...I wouldnt drive it, but Ive seen em.

It still a civic. Up until the mid 2000s it was one of the ugliest cars on the road. I wouldn't want to even get groceries in one without ducking for cover if I saw someone I knew

Let me put this another way then. Street racing is illegal. Stangnet does not promote, nor condone street racing. Threads that contain discussions about street racing are subject to closure. People who repeatedly discuss street racing after said closure risk disciplinary action. It's that simple.

It's your car and your life and you're going to do what you want with either of them....but you're not going to talk about it here!

End of discussion!

I agree that it should be for fun. win or lose, who cares? I hope ya win but, post up the result either way. I lost far more than I have won & been beaten by things I thought I should have walked all over. My Import buddy loves to talk trash about AWD & Twin Turbos beating up on domestics. His days of having the faster car are numbered though. Once my build is done, he will finally be taking a domestic kick in his import A** lol. good luck to ya

You can race your hot rod around on whatever road you want at whatever stupid speed you would like, but id prefer you didnt kill me or any of my family or friends just because you were too lazy to take your car to the track. Laziness or stupidity isnt justification in my eyes. If you're serious about building a fast car, then grow up and do it where it belongs.

To the OP: if your honda buddy is too lazy to drag his pile to the track, maybe its not that fast after all.

To the OP....make sure you remind him that the race track isn't going to allow him to start from a 30mph "rice roll". That might change his mind.
