94-98 are what you want for a brake conversion on a Fox using SN95 brackets.

99-04 are longer due to a wider housing. Same brake hardware though so if you take the brakes off an '04 GT, you could put them on a Fox only if you use the 94-98 axles

sorry to hijack, but:

can i put 94-98 axles into my fox housing with 94-98 rake hardware and make it all work with the factory parts (not using the northstar brackets)

basically: is the 94-98 housing the same or do i need a new housing?

Yes, it's the same.

A 94-98 8.8 rear end is basically a Fox housing with SN95 brake conversion done to it if you want to dumb it down. Each side is 0.75" wider than a drum-brake Fox

So if you use Fox length axles and SN95 brakes you need the North Carolina brackets?
