Mustang died after hitting bump

I was just thinking..this is kind of a shot in the dark..try checking the plastic elbow which connects the air filter to the throttle body. If that managed to pop loose, your car would instantly die, and when trying to start it would crank fast.

I know this because once I managed to pop my vortech discharge tube off my throttle body and the same thing happened. Instantly shut the car off, all the dash lights lit, and when trying to start it cranked over really fast.

Ok, new development:mad:

On our way out to eat we swing by Firestone to see if she is ready, guy says they change the fuse and its running and driving fine. Come back from dinner and pick her up, get about 4 miles out AND SHE DIES AGAIN:mad:

No warning, just looses all power, Firestone told me when I pick her up that if it happens again I need to take her to a shop that does electrical work, so after another $65 tow bill we dropped her off at the place that installed the cams...........either Im cursed or the car is cursed:notnice: :notnice: :bang: :bang: So the wife gets to take me to work while my baby is being worked on:( :( :( :( :( :(

back when i first got my car it just died on me all of a sudden but would start up all while driving on the highway until on day it just shutoff and would just crank. It ended up being a connector by the engine compartments fusebox that sent some signal to the ecu maybe that can also be your problem

My Cobra dies for no reason sometimes, it sux. There is a TSB that indicates PCM reflash to correct this but the dealer wants $85 to do it even though I told them it has almost caused an accident at least once (of course I was stretching the truth a bit).

You have a short.. it's going to keep blowing the fuse, to bad you don't live near me :( I would fix it for you.

If you can tell me what fuse blew I might be able to guide you to the problem.

Go in with guns blazing and they'll probably heed your request :D

No, he would just get arrested and sent to prison and we still would not work on his car for free.

Do you work for free :) neither do we...

OK guys update time.

Left the Firestone, car died about 3 miles out......had her towed to the shop that did the cams, couldnt find out the problem. Replaced the fuse started home and she dies again, had her flatbedded to a shop where my dad has had some work done.

Got her back today, at the back of the firewall (behind the motor) there is a plastic hose that contains several important wires...........whenever I had the strut tower brace installed the guys shoved that hose out of the way, underhood heat from the motor melted the hose and burned off some of the wires insulation, so the guy tapes the hose up with electrical tape and now she runs just fine :nice: :nice:.
