Hey guys. Im looking to get my Lx painted here in the next couple weeks and i want to buy all my exterior upgrades first. The only thing im really looking at getting is a cobra r hood. That being said, i cant afford a 400 dollar cervinis hood. Im looking around and have found a couple companies and was looking for some feedback on them. Libertymustangsupply.com, abcexclusive.com, and designconceptsauto.com . Anyone had any positive or negative experiences with these companies? Thanks for any help in advance

Save your $$ for the Cervinis......you will happy you did.

From what everyone and their mothers say, you don't want to spend money on anything but cervini's unless you don't mind a hood that fits like poo.

Personally, I'd keep the stocker. Fiberglass hoods are cool if you need the clearance, but I kind of laugh to myself when I see guys cruising around with 4" cowl hoods and nothing under the hood to back it up. To each his own I guess.

It all equals out in the long run it seems. You can save a pile on a less expensive hood. Innevitably, you'll be putting the money you saved into the body work required to bring that 'less expensive' hood up to a decent standard. As mentioned, put your money into a Cervini, or the like. You'll be really happy you did.

Heard nothing but negative comments on these guys.

Save more money and get a quality hood. Cervini's is probally one of the better ones. If you buy a cheaper hood, it will cost more in the end. The prep work needed to get the hood to the level of a quality hood costs combined with the price of the cheap hood is going to cost more then if you had spent more up front. You'll probally spend an extra hundred or so over a quality one in the end.

Pay more up front for a better quality hood, or pay more in the end for the body shop to line it up and fit it right.

...unless you're like me and couldn't give a rat's anus about fine details with bodywork, and you just want to shave a few pounds and help ventilate the engine bay a little for a fairly cheap price. That, and if your stock hood is as beat up as mine is, just about anything would be an improvement...

But otherwise ... yeah. What they said.

i can't speak from experience, but i've been doing a lot of research for a while because i'm in the market for a new hood also, and i have heard lots of good things (much more than bad) about ABC too... just thought i'd mention that....

Jeff yes I am serious.
I pulled my old stock hood off and sat the ABC hood on to see how it would line up. The gap between the hood and fender matched up perfectly, just a nice even margin from the cowl to the bumper cover. The painter even commented on how little prep work it took in preparation for paint.

I’ve never owned a Cervini HOOD so I can’t compare, but I find it hard to believe it could fit any better IMO.

However I do own a Cervini Stalker bumper cover and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that is the biggest POS I’ve ever seen. Probably this summer sometime I’ll pull Cervini stalker off and through it away and replace it with the ABC stalker, that's how confident I am with ABC.

i went with a cervinis its very nice.About a month ago the hood latch broke and the hood came open at about 70 mph did not even put a scratch on the hood but not much left of the cowl.

i've been reading the samething !

seems most say buy cervini because its what they've read or heard , but have no actual experience with cervni. case in point this thread.

i was just in the same boat did not want crappy hood and didnt want to pay a ton of money.. so i went with a cervini's pin on! 235 plus 100 bucks shipping and i am glad i went that way very pleased with the quality .
hope no one already mentiond or went over this stuff dint have time to read all replies!

I had the same problem. My hood is fine but I had to replace both hinges and the cowl is totally FCKED.
