I own an automatic 1998 Mustang GT (VIN#: 1FAFP42X3WF183056) with a cracked intake manifold at what I would describe as a cross-over piece, where coolant seeps. At the website http://www.alldata.com/TSB/19/981949C9.html I found this, “02-2-2 FEB 02 Intake Manifold - Cross-Over Channel Coolant Seepage”.

Does this apply to me?

If not? Why and what can I do about it?

If yes, how do I go about getting this done?

Thanks much, tuned…

I’m no Einstein but they guarantee it for 7 years, 2004 – 1998 = 6. I could be wrong? If I thought that I did something to create this crack I would eat the cost myself but since there’s proof it’s a Ford defect, I expect them to pay for it. How should I go about this when I call the dealership… if they refuse, should I threaten a lawsuit or what? Someone, please coach me. Why do you say its over?

Yes but the argument is that they know about it and won’t take responsibility. The same intake manifold has been recalled in the Crown Victoria, Cougar and several other vehicles. They just don’t want to claim its there fault, but in fact it is, which makes them money grubbing bastards. And who the hell distributes a plastic intake manifold, ridiculous. The fact that they know it was a factory defect and that they won’t take responsibility for it sounds like lawsuit waiting to happen. Am I wrong?
