Curious if many of you were aware that in 1965 Ford had Ben Smith (the engineer who was responsible for the 57-59 retractable hardtops) work on making a retractable mustang. Mr Smith is 93 now and living in Arizona. He made a few (Someone said 4) prototypes but the project was scrapped when Ford saw the success they had with the fastback. A local collector here recently auctioned off one of these rare gems In Nebraska.
