Man, tryin' to remember that one, but I'm drawin' a blank on the details - my memory ain't so good. I do remember the one in the barber shop tho, where bugs grows a boquet of sorts on Elmer's head...

Ahem, anyhow, back to the topic of the thread, mustang season, yes, yes. Umm, I got nothin'...

Hey hop that's one sweet GT-500. I just noticed in the pic the BP sign says "Diesel car wash" WTF is that? Washing your car with diesel? Car wash for diesel cars only? Perhaps it was seperate saying they sell diesel and have a carwash. I just find it strange they would advertise they sell diesel, as all servos do here.

I gotta give it to ya there... As much as I don't like Eleanor the movie car (and its clones), that car has done wonders for our cars' values. I mean, 5 years ago, you could still find '67-'68 fastbacks in driver condition for under $7k, and often as low as $4500. Now those prices are just for rusted hulls and total project cars. And now folks think every Mustang with stripes like that is another Eleanor... The really sad thing is, I'm not sure I'm being sarcastic, or if this is actually a good thing...

STD , you mean Spontaneous Transition to a Desirable Stang , dont you ?

NOT TO MENTION MUSTANGS IN GENERAL ...., EL AWAKENED THE HOBBY, PUT NEW LIFE INTO IT. ANY TRUE MUSTANG FANATIC CANNOT DISPUTE THAT.
I mean, 5 years ago, you could still find '67-'68 fastbacks in driver condition for under $7k, and often as low as $4500.

YEAH, BUT WHO WAS LOOKIN FOR EM ..? THATS WHY YOU COULD INDEED FIND THEM ALL DAY AT THAT PRICE.... THEY WERE SITTING EVERYWHERE ROTTING TO THE GROUND. NOW THEY ARE BEING RESTORED, BE IT INTO ELEANOR OR A RESTO-MOD, OR ORIGINAL. WHY ? BECAUSE OF ELEANOR. NO OTHER REASON. IF GISS HAD USED A 67 FIREBIRD AS ELEANOR, WELL, THE 67 AND 68 MUSTANGS THAT ARE NOW BEING REBUILT WOULD STILL BE ROTTING TO THE GROUND, AND THE FIREBIRDS WOULD BE IN HIGH DEMAND. THERES NO DENYING THIS.

And now folks think every Mustang with stripes like that is another Eleanor...

TRUE DAT, BUT HEY, .. SERIOUSLY,, WHO CARES ?? THINK ABOUT IT. IF SOME GUY THAT WOULDNT HAVE EVER GIVEN YOUR STANG A SECOND GLANCE, NOW , BECAUSE HES SEEN GISS AND LIKED ELEANOR, AND NOW MUSTANGS, THINKS YOU HAVE A COOL CAR , ISNT THAT STILL BETTER THAN HIM CHOOSING TO SCOPE OUT THAT 4 DOOR HONDA WITH THE GARGANTUAN RACE WING AND THE FART MUFFLER INSTEAD??
I KNOW THAT SOME GUY THAT NEVER CARED FOR MUSTANGS OR MUSCLECARS AT ALL UNTIL HE SAW ELEANOR IS NOT AS GREAT AS HAVING SOME DIE HARD MUSTANG GEAR HEAD COME UP AND SLOBBER ALL OVER YOUR RIDE, BUT AT LEAST THAT OTHER GUY SWINGS FOR THE HOME TEAM. IRREGARDLESS (sorry Blake ,said it again ) OF HOW HE CAME ON BOARD, AT LEAST HES THERE. !
The really sad thing is, I'm not sure I'm being sarcastic, or if this is actually a good thing...
ITS A GOOD THING !! THINK ABOUT THIS TOO. IVE HAD A BUNCH OF MUSTANGS. BUT WHEN I SAW GISS I HAD A 69 JUDGE ID RESTORED. I SAW ELEANOR, FELL BUTT OVER TIN CUP IN LOVE, AND NOW IM BACK HERE TO KEEP ALL YALL ENTERTAINED DEFENDING HER HONOR !!

Hey Route,
Yeah, just advertising they have both the fuel and the car wash. That was in Mooresville , North Carolina, just outside Charlotte . Home of all the Cup Race teams. The guy said it was a real GT500, but the steering wheel was wrong , as were the wheels. Heres a side shot for ya.

You movin here or coming through while moving ? As far as the Mustang population goes, there are actually not terribly many running around. Down around where I live though, theres a lime 67 GT500, a Cobra replica, and a killer 71 Boss 351. Yall may have seen it in Mustang Magazine a few months back,, an Argent blue one,, sweet ! . There are a TON of gearheads here, all I can say is if you go picking street fights, make sure it runs. Fast. Very fast. Ive seen some of these idiots around here make a Gremlin run in the high 9s on the street. 10 second ricers are everywhere , and if its got an engine, theres somebody down here that has tried to twist it. Hey man,, its North Carolina!!! Even the old timers in the rscal scooters have nitrous,,,.And of course like any big city, we have our identity crisis stricken white kids that listen to gangsta rap, say a lot of "yo's" and basically disgrace themselves slapping 20 inch rims on a Pathfinder . A harmless lot, pathetic nonetheless. But that phase will pass. Thats more so in Charlotte than Mooresville. Mooresville is still pretty "cawntry". If you are indeed moving here, you looking to break in to Nascar? The Nascar tech Inst. is here too.

That car's a clone. '67's never came with the stainless rocker trim or red interiors. Neat car, but shame on him for trying to pass it off as the real deal. I love my clone, but I hate it when buttheads like that guy try to pass off theirs as genuine.
