Mustang Speedo Hook-Up with Tremec

First of all, how are our 94-95 speedo's hooked up to the stock T5, mechanically or electrically? I recently put in a 3550 and the only thing remaining is to hook up the speedo cable but I'm having a little trouble figuring it out. At the back of the Tremec is the neutral safety harness (which I don't need, right?) and then when I pull out the triangular rubber piece, the hole where a gear drive should slide in is exposed (that's what I want to use, right?). So I guess my main question is, assuming all of the cables that were attached to the T5 are still hanging under my car, will there be one that will attach to the Steeda gear I bought and then slide into the gear drive hole? Sorry if this is confusing but can someone help me out? Thanks

Yep its gear drive, that hole that the triangular rubber plug filled is where it goes on the 3550, the T5 location is on the driver side of the tranny should be in front of the box that the shifter is bolted to there is one bolt holding it into the case you need that whole assembley so you can put your new gear on it. hope that helps.

The assembly that is bolted to the T5 for the gear drive, is it possible to just disconnect the cable going to it, hence leaving the assembly still attached to the T5? I sold my T5 two months ago I think that I might have disconnected the cable and left the assembly still bolted to my old T5. Is that possible? If it is, can I buy just that assembly from dealership?
