I have been looking into transmissions to swap into my restomod 1965 Mustang for a little while now and I am interested in the this thread. I am looking at either a T56 or the TKO 600RR. I have a 351W stroked to 408. The prices for new T56's that bolt up to a 351W are around $2300 and the prices for TKO 600 transmissions are around $1900. But, I did find rebuilt/upgraded 03-04 Cobra T56's for around $1500. After my excitement of finding a cheaper T56 I found out that the Cobra T56 transmission is different in the front and will not bolt up to a 351W block, so you have to have the T56 that is built for the windsor powerplant and not the 4.6 mod motor. If anyone knows the best, cost effective solution for a T56 tranmission in a classic mustang it would be much appreciated, and I would really like to know if the camaro T56 can be bolted up to a windsor block.
