I've started the second wheel, but likely won't post daily updates. It's in better shape than the first one, so less to do.

I also realize I'm not a fan of the svt caps. The Bullitt caps look way better. Last pics for now. Still nervous to see what happens when I go and try to get a tire mounted

Looks great! I bet they’ll hold up when the get tires mounted. Just let the guy at discount or whatever know what you did.

I've used the tire machine at the shop a few times and it shouldn't touch the rim if the guy knows what he is doing. If I have to use a bar to get it started when mounting those 'no sidewall' tires it has tape on it.

When you balance the tires, isn't the wheel mounted on the machine with a cone through the center cap area?

Most balancers will allow the cone to be inserted from the back with a felt cap to go between the wing nut and wheel-if so equipped-if you are going to a franchised store I’d imagine they have that set up

FYI, if anyone is looking to powdercoat after fixing a wheel.

www.prismaticpowders.com

many shops can get their powders so shouldn’t be an issue.

their “Silver Oar” color is a spot on match for the OEM finish. Matches my ‘98 Cobra wheel perfectly. Would prob match a 91-93 pony wheel as well

This wheel is OEM paint. it’s a different wheel than the refinished one earlier in the thread. I have not refinished it
