I should be working on the engine bay...

instead I’m thinking about adding heating elements to these damn recaros.

Seat HEATERS - Seat COMFORT

<p>If your vehicle did not come with heated seats and you wish it had than we have what you need! Our seat heater kits will get the job done, and keep you warm in the winter. They are even great for those cool evenings in the fall and spring when you are
www.leatherseats.com

I gotta say though...if I had ‘15+ seats in my car with the ventilated seats, I’d seriously debate these units. Looks like the same style TED devices used by ford. Bet it would be easy to swap this in using the factory piping and it’s a stand alone controller

Sanctum Seat Ventilation System - LeatherSeats.com

Our Sanctum Seat Ventilation System is universal and provides both heating and cooling climate control options for your vehicle's seats.

Your seats are an inspiration, i've been looking at corbeaus on and off for the last year, then i see a post from you with your seats and continue the search for Recaro's, the netted headrests are icing on the cake i guess it pays to be patience which isnt one of my strong suits.

Rev 2. Fixed some of the smaller dimensional stuff, but screwed up where the it butts up against the post stop. I think Rev 3 will be the one.

Back to welding. I think I got all the holes I wanted to fill done. I’m not doing every single one, as the battery and stock airbox are going back in. I just focused around the towers and upper aprons where you will actually see the Swiss cheese.

now time to grind. Three hours to do this so far.

End of season so was very quiet. Lot of people starting to pull boats out of water. It’s also smaller, so not a lot of traffic. Lots of undeveloped land around there. Most people kayak as it's a very shallow, clean lake.

this was earlier in the day around 8AM before some clouds rolled in, which made a much nicer photo IMHO

Ya same here man, I’ve come across some here and there. Found some good deals on the FB recaro pages but it’s hard to pay 800-1000 for something when the seller is over seas. Also found these on the Houston CL but this clown wants way to much for the condition just went down from 1700 to 1500 now!!!

He's had those on Ebay for a while too. Wanted $1795 on ebay which is too much considering they need another $1K or so to recover them.

Here's a rare Flofit seat, but it needs to be recovered so any value in being an original SSC seat is lost

If you buy a recovered seat, ask to see a pic of the bottom. I've seen some seats that look great but are total hackjobs on the bottom. Sure you won't see it, but it gives to a more general sense of the work that went into recovering them. Professional...or quick and dirty.

So here is a few I’ve seen for sale but again come from over seas and this guys is reputable. I’d say they have been redone and unfortunately I’d want them redone again do to color changes and wanting my scarlet red seat color back, so I’d need to get them redone. I’m not sure what to look for but these seem to be in fairly good condition and done well. Also I’m not sure between the LX or LS or what the difference is.

I’m in those FB groups as well. I think some of those guys will recover upon request. Not sure though as I obviously haven’t inquired.

first seats are LXB, not LSB. Difference is in the seat back bolstering. That generation of seats is modular, pick and choose your bottom bolstering, thigh pullout, side bolstering, and headrest.

mine are LSB.

I guess the real question I have is which model fits best in our cars?

any of the modeks will fit. You just want to be aware not all flip forward, so you’ll want to make sure they have the recline levers on the side otherwise no back seat access. The aftermarket seats will have recline knobs and flip forward levers on both sides. The oem seats have them on one side, and not the same sometimes

for example, if you grab oem Mk2 vW Seats, the 4-door versions don’t flip forward

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-...0001&campid=5335821607&icep_item=174432305112

Btw judging by the background pics, I think these are the guys from the Stang Domination YouTube channel

EDIT: looks like they revised the pics

Spend some time with the grinder and a flap wheel.

mostly there. I used a 120 grit flap disk but would like to fine something a little finer for final dress. I also need to get to the backside and grind them down a tad.

I will be filling the tower hole on the pass side. I just don’t have an appropriate sizes washer on hand.

once I get it where I want. I’ll paint the outer fenders with the frame paint and under the frame rails and the core support down below. Got another can of frame inner coating as I forgot to do inside the radiator support.

getting closer to painting the bay

Edit: yeah I know the pics upside down but too lazy to edit

What are these holes for? Nothing right? I’m debating filling them In, but part of me wants to leave them. Believe it or not part of me is not a fan on everything shaved off smooth.

Debating filling in the hood prop holes and running hood struts. Trying to decide...

I could also get this and cover up all that crap

Those strut kits will work with stock hoods right?

I hate the whole look of those holes and the opening between that support and the bumper cover. Been debating on that Scott Rod cover for a while.
Even if you fill the holes, you still have that big space, which to me is the bigger eyesore.

I guess what I’m saying is, filling in those four holes wouldn’t do much to fix that issue, IMO.
I’d go the Scott Rod route.

Definitely Scott Rod panels.

It’s what I’m going to do someday.
