I'm going to be getting a full paint job within the next weeks and I'm having trouble deciding on what paint to use. The guy doing it is real good and promises that it will be a $5k paint job, I don't have to pay anything though because I did a website in exchange. I was looking at House of Kolors paints but I haven't seen any of their paints in person so I have no idea what color or type of paint to choose. I know that its got to be blue metallic, thats the color I've always wanted. Right now my car is black and I originally didn't want to go far from that so I was thinking BMW Carbon Black which has blue metallic that appears in direct sunlight. Now I'm thinking about going with a brighter blue metallic though, so if you guys have any suggestions on paint colors or have any pictures I would really appreciate it. Please let me know of any dark or bright blue metallic paints that you know look good.

At least you are starting with black.... the engine compartment won't look too bad, and neither will the trunk if it's taped off. They going to paint the door jams and everything else?

I like the Ford Sonic Blue. Plus it should be cheaper to touch up down the road.

Thanks for the suggestions, they will be painting the door jams and inside the trunk lid if I change the color far enough from black. Only thing about the brighter blues is that my engine compartment will still be black and that might look kinda nasty. I'm also thinking about some kind of charcoal metallic that basiclly looks black but has silver flakes in it. I thought cosmo schwarz or whatever it was called is the same thing as carbon black just the german name, maybe i'm wrong though. If you know of any other near black metallic paints that you can think of please let me know.

Was just looking at the pics of that 02 Mustang above and also the pics of the 331 Stang painted Le Mans Blue. I like both of those colors but I think that I want to go with a darker shade of blue thats closer to black. But still has enough blue metallic to light up nice in the sun. My dad's Suzuki motorcycle has this charcoal metallic which is basiclly black with silver flakes in it. I really like the way that looks so its really in between those two right now.

cosmos black was on the E36's and has a noticeable amount more sparkle than the carbon. carbon was also available on the E36 as well as e46-up

thanks for the replies, still got a little more thinking to do. if only there was a site with a photo gallery of cars organized by paint color. gives me an idea as a web designer maybe i'll take that on as a new project.
