Here's a pic of the 408w going to a buddy's house to go in the mustang. He's got the tools and the skills. We built it ourselves. We are putting it on an engine stand to break it in. Hope to do so in a couple weeks. Putting it in the car will likely take a month or so.

It's got srs forged pistons, canfield heads, vc jr intake, and a bg 825 carb. I also have a be cool radiator, high flow water pump, digital 6 plus box, longtube headers, bg280 pump, and aeromotive sumped tank.

Finally, once all the crap is in the car, it's going to the bodyshop to get rid of some rust and the bodykit.

I can't wait, even if I'm loosing my summer with the stang for all of it.

Went over to work on the motor today. We were going to break it in on a motor stand, but the amount of work to convert the stand (currently setup for a chevy). Well, we just decided to break it in inside the car. So, we pulled the mustang in the shop and pulled the 5.0 right out. Lots of work ahead of us, but it's begun.

Well, we spent last night cutting, grinding, and welding rusty shock towers. Stupid Iowa salty road winters. One tower down, one to go.

Ladies and Gentlmen, we have a tubular k member!

We finished welding the rusty shock towers and covered over the giant hole for the air cleaner. I painted over those areas and it looks good. I just found this summers project, painting the rest of that bay.

Next we swaped in the tubular k. We were going to reuse the stock a-arms, but the bolts are rusted in. Buddy's going to try to get them out today, but if he can't I might be looking into aftermarket a-arms.

Do any tubular a's have spring perches?

QA1 with bolt on spring perches.

PS, I'll try to get pics this weekend. Especially if the motor goes in.

I want ones with spring perches on them. I don't want to go coil over yet. I already have too much in the motor swap. The wife will divorse me if I spend another 500 on coilovers and 200 on a arms. I was looking at fms a arms for now, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't tubular a arms with spring perches first.

I installed the rack and pinion today. The steering shaft is 3/4" too short. This worries me as my tires (245/45/17) were already rubbing in front. If the tires are moved forward this could really be a problem. Current plan on the steering shaft is to extend it with some tubular stock. I'll post pics later.

Sorry about not posting pics. I work 8-5 at my job and then go to my friend’s house to work on the mustang 6-10. We are about getting to business right now to get the stang in and out of his gauge as soon as we can. When I'm not working on the stang the wife gave me a list of things I was neglecting around the house (fix, repair, assemble, lawn, ...). I took some pics, but getting to posting them is tough.

I got a stock replacement a arm from ebay for now. I'll consider aftermarket down the road. I just want to tackle one project at a time. Modifying the steering shaft will be tonight and maybe dropping in the motor. I'd definitely get pics of that.

I'm pretty sure those wheels will be rubbing. I'm planning on changing tires and moding fenders to deal with it. I'm thinking 235-40-17 should do it. Rims are 17*8 in front. Not sure yet.

That is a hell of a motor. Dart block, huge canfield heads, carb intake converted for fi... I don't think that is going into anything for now.
