In case y'all didn't know, high strength steel will positively EAT through some cut off wheels. I think I went through about nine wheels to cut out my frame reinforcements from that Tahoe frame. FYI:zombie:

K, found a use for my new press. I'm going to rebuild my T5 myself. @Boosted92LX , got tips for me on this one? Various bearings, can I do the same thing?

I've rebuilt several 5 speeds. @Mustang5L5 has as well. Best advice is to make sure all the gears are in the neutral position when putting it back together. It's a kick in the sack to get one together just to find out its locked into gear and has to come apart again.
It looks more complicated than it is. Best layman's advice is to stack each set of blocks in its own pile. Label what's what. It all looks the same after its apart. there are some really good videos on YouTube and there are dozens of tutorials on the web. Watch a few and after you get the case cracked open you will actually recognize what you are looking at.
Don't let @RaggedGTconfuse you, I'll be fitting 315's under Doby's rear.Even though 335's where completely my idea and a notion I brought up,and it just so happened that Chris aka RaggedGT thought it was a Great idea and really liked my Go Big mindset since I am cutting up the tubs and altering the suspension anyways I'm going to do a two inch mini-tubbing just to give plenty of room to tuck those tires up under the 1/4's.

I'd really like to learn. Funny, but I've never had any coaching on building one. I helped a guy tear down the T5 in my boy's car, but didn't get to watch him build it. I looked at the stack of parts after it was scattered and had no clue where anything went. But, once you learn, it's no big deal. I had a machine at work scattered one day and someone asked me how the hell i was gonna get it back together... I replied that when you can identify every part and know exactly where it goes, it's a simple as stacking blocks. I just need to learn where all the blocks in a 5 speed go i guess..

A T5 rebuild kit with syncros, bearings and other small parts costs about $160-$200. It does not include any gears or shafts.
http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com/ also has a video on how to rebuild your T5 or Tremec. It costs about $20, and is worth every penny of it.
I did a Tremec 3550 rebuild, and it wasn't that difficult. The video was an immense help, and I would recommend viewing it. At $20, it will give you an opportunity to look and decide for yourself if you think that it is something you want to try to do.

Here's your instruction manual. Print it out, put it in the bathroom and read it for a few weeks. It will all make sense.
