Doooooon't heat bearings past 250 degrees F!!!!

If you do, cool them gently. You can do this with a fan. (Electric or manual). Then walk outside and drop them in the trash can.

So, early mornings again!

Tomorrow, up on jack stands again. Dropping the rear end out to FINALLY put new parts in it!

I get to try out @Boosted92LX 's toaster bearings trick on the pinion gear, differential and c-clip eliminator bearings.

I'll order my QA1 single adjustable coilovers on Wednesday. Thanks @madmike1157 and @84Ttop for recommendations.

After dropping out the rear end and putting Doby on jack stands, I'll finish making my cut lines on the inside.

Can't do the actual cutting till after work tomorrow night, it's a little noisy to do that at 3:30am for some members of my household.

It may be next week before I put together the diff. I want to focus on the cutting and welding in the first week.

There you go Chris, your evil plans are coming to fruition! @RaggedGT

I'm so excited! If I had a big shaggy tail, I wouldn't be able to walk right now because it would be wagging so hard!

I'll post pictures as i tear into it.

Well, you are obviously the smart Nick then.

Imagine that, two Nick's from Texas both commenting at the same time on the same thread.

Naww,....The one that thinks the Italian word for goodbye is the same one that is on the dog food bag is from Iowa.

Red neck knows no geographical boundaries.

And for the record, Nick seems to be prevalent here. You got the Iowa Nick, The Jersey Nick, The Texas Nick, and Saint Nick. (But the last guy's on every forum,.....checkin who's naughty, and who's nice.).

Anybody that used to live in a southern state, and now by choice lives in one where temps drop to 20 below, cannot claim that they lived anywhere previously.

Because by virtue of that choice they are deemed mentally incompetent, and can't be trusted to tell the truth..

Bottom line,...Nick is from Iowa. Nick always lived in Iowa.

Clearly, you've never spent a summer day in Omaha, or Minneapolis. It gets just as damn hot, and the humidity is still right there to make it sticky. (Not like Houston, or Birmingham, but it is still there) Then,...you got the "dead zone". The months between November, and April.

Just ask ol crazy man Iowa Nick what it's like,...he's lived there all his life.

Started cutting a little tonight, I only had about ten minutes, then I had to be someplace with my wife. I'm telling you, I don't know where she is getting her priorities.

Anywho, tomorrow night, I'll have the driver's side nearly completely cut up. Though I have to do something with my daughter, but not until 7:00.

I cut just enough to keep me from being lazy and backing out.

First of all, I am full blooded 'Murican, its F'in chow if I want it to be chow. All of yall can go back to Europe with your fancy foreign terms. Secondly, I have still spent more of my years in Texas than in Iowa so far. Only reason I am still in Iowa is because 100% of my family, and my wife's family all reside here, and I know what its like to be a kid and only see your aunts, uncles, cousins, and grand parents once a year. That, and the crime rate is low, traffic is pretty non existent even in the second biggest city in the state, and people are generally good hearted if they arent addicted to meth. It was 26 degrees on my way to work this morning, and 57 when I left and its mid April. What's not to love?

Oh and Dave, youre doing a good job, looks great, keep it up. (@madmike1157 's favorite terms of encouragement.)

You know me Nick, my family is from Iowa City. I'm a die hard Hawkeye fan, always have been, always will be.

Not to knock the south, when I spent some time in 'bama, I meet probably the most beautiful southern bell ever. Best legs I've ever seen on a real woman. She had that classic southern bell drawl. It's best I stop thinking right here and now about that, that was thirty years ago and she could be the mom of some of the members on this site.

+1 to the crime rate there, I had a '78 jeep cj5 when I lived in Iowa city. I used to leave my wallet in it with the top off and not even giving thought about it. It was always still there in the morning.

Got to admit, had one of my hottest girlfriends in Iowa City. Ah jeez, back to thinking about cars, ok?

Took my buddy that was born and raised here in IA down to Dallas in December for a job, and he came back saying, "Damn, now I see why you said there arent nearly the number of hot girls in IA that there are in TX." Granted we are comparing Dallas/FT Worth population to the dwindling numbers in IA, but yes, I still have a soft spot when I speak to a southern woman with an accent. You sir, got the best of what we have to offer by being in good ol' Iowa City. You know what they say about those college girls... I keep getting older, and they stay the same age... alright.
