A couple of things.

#1. What are you using to cut away all of the inner structure, and the tub itself? I've found that a sawzall is the "Butcher of Barcelona" when it comes to making quick work of all of that w/ a minimum of hot sparks flyin' all over the place. I only used the cutoff wheel to make reference cuts, and I used BOB to do the rest of the dirty work. Put a new long blade on that bad boy, and sht just cuts off like it was made out of paper. You gotta be careful that it doesn't get away from you, and it is a real btch when the blade hits some substructure instead of cutting through it. (Then you have an "S" shaped blade, and you get to yell the F word really loud when it happens).

#2. Face it. Living in a harsh climate drains the beauty right out of the entire female population in any point north of the Mason Dixon line. There are exceptions,...but generally speaking, when I went back to Omaha a few times over the last few years, they could have made the movie The hills have eyes using regulars off the street. And they could've saved big on make up.

They wouldn't have needed any.

Southern women are hot. What you get in trade however is a very wimpy specimen. Typically going to the office on a summer day taking a sweater, blanket, coat, or HEATER because, (say in in your best snively voice here), "they get cold".

Awww you poor thing,.............EAT SOMETHING! Then maybe you'll have a metabolism that will do something more than keep you awake.

#3 It's "Belle". As in "Scarlett O'Hara was the belle of the ball."

Just know, that as long as you guys are gonna go out on a limb and use words out of context, I'm here to ring your bells for doing it.

That is all.

Arrivederci.

Right you are Mike, belle, I even knew that, just a minor case of dumbass is all.

I'm trying to cut away as much of the brackets as I can prior to cutting into the tubs to avoid what you just said.

I have experience cussing from that very problem!

So, thought I was going to get a lot done tonight, and I did!

Ok, so this won't sound like work on the car, but it is. My anniversary is coming up in just over a week and I was going to get my wife a set of coilovers.

Then she heard Coldplay (a music band of some sorts) is coming to Tulsa. I bought her tickets to the concert instead of coilovers. $125 each (they better be at least as good as Aerosmith for that kind of money). Mind you, this is in the nose bleed section. I could have bought tickets right up next to the stage for a mere 2K!

Then my daughter's x-box 360 finally gave up its ghost.....My baby is normally not spoiled, but she is a great kid, straight A's in school, big into the whole thespian thing. I bought her an x-box 1.......

So how does this add up to making Doby fat out back?

Those two females cause most of the delays concerning Doby. I've bought myself all sorts of quality time with Doby now.....LOTS.....

It delays the coilovers two weeks, and really, that's when I planned to have the tubbing done.

Oh well, I did that stuff for them tonight, I only got about thirty minutes with Doby, but I got a little done. I cut off most of the brackets, I just need to drill out there spot welds now to finish them off and clean the frame. I still need to remove the seat belt bracket as well and shorten it. I cut off the brackets in pieces simply because I couldn't access all of the spot welds because of the brackets.

Anyhow, two pictures, first one is what I started with, second as it sits right now:

Good man Dave,
I'm sure your little girl is overly excited about the One. Does your wife know about the Coldplay tickets? Either way I'm sure you will earn a ton of brownie points
Have you ever listened to Coldplay? I recommend you visit YouTube lol

I think they played halftime at some football game, other than that, I know they're popular. Whatever, the ends justify the means.

Good lord Dave you can lay out some paint. I don't know that in my shop time I have ever seen anything that slick.

For the record I did grow up in the Midwest and lived in Iowa for 9 years. I still go back every year for the State Fair to see friends I've know for over 20 years.

Thanks Joe.

I really do miss Iowa, I still haven't taken my kids up there. My family moved here in the sixties when I was just a boy, so I guess I have roots here.

Maybe a trip next summer in Doby to show them Iowa City?

And it''d be worth it.

Most of the times you see a horror movie, you have to pay. All you have to do to do that in Iowa is walk around and look at the women.

was that on the Dearborn assembly line? lol.. I used to actually find bottles of booze in door panels, trunks etc. Customers would come in complaining their new cars rattles and had funny noises.. sure enough, took off the inner door panel or the trunk panel and guys eating and drinking on the job would just toss it into the car rather than getting caught..

Quality was job #1 back then ya know

No.. I actually worked in a small machine shop, of all places. From 1989 to 1999. The owner brewed his own beer, and at lunch sometimes he'd bring some out and we'd sit at the table and get lit. Usually after work in the parking lot too. Good times.

Now it's OSHA this and OSHA that... Safety everything.
