So I just bought my first mustang. I payed 11,000 grand for my 5 speed Shelby gt. Had 1 owner who kept it mostly in the garage. 100k miles and she runs perfect. I don’t know much about her and would like to know what I should do to it ? Mods and tunes wise... any suggestions ?
11k is great for the price. The car itself looks amazing man. As far as mods put an Edelbrock supercharger on it, some exhaust, and change the rims to a Shelby style, heck throw some comp cams in it as well. Other than that not much you can do to it NA wise. I would beef up the suspension more, sway bar, panhard, maybe control arms. I don’t really know much about the Shelby gt’s, I think they have gt500 suspension already and appearance, other than that I know very little about them except they look like a gt500. Hopefully some one chimes in and schools me on the Shelby gt!
Thanks for the advice man I got real lucky, one owner and he kept great care of it! I’ll definitely 93 race tune and maybe down the road consider the super charger ... I know they can be pricey
They are pricey but worth it. I can’t go back to N/A ever again. Although I do have an 07 gt convertible. The best mod I’ve ever done was switch the shifter from Hurts to MGW. It has pypes bomb exhaust, and that’s it. That’s all it needed at the time. Now it has 3.55 gears and I love it, I wanna go higher to 3.73 when the time is right. Lower the car down if it’s not lowered already. I used American muscle and got the suspension upgrade kit, lower springs and billstien shocks and struts on the gt500. Next mod will be lowering the 07gt
Exactly ......I would stay away from the mutha thumper's from comp cams (very violent) .....go for those 'hot' rod cams from ford racing .....combine that with 4.10 gears and you'll have a fun car to drive .....its not about any HP gains (you'll get a little) but its the sound and the way you get thrown back in the seat when you hit it.....
I was never so nervous in my life when putting these into a new (15k on it at the time) mustang .....and I even had a ford master mechanic helping me (really doing the surgery)......but I like the results ...at the end of the vid ...I lift my camera and that's what it sounds like on the streets ....people pull next to me at a light and ask all the time ...."what the he!! do you got in there?" ......of course, I tell the truth..... "a poop load of $$$" ..haha
