similar desired end result (no stripes / no big fogs in lower grill)

I have a built AOD w/ 2,500 stall, and a new set of tires, and hopefully the Randalls power rack and pinion awaiting by then. Can't wait !

What do y'all think ?

It's really coming together, good job man. And 2 super huge big thumbs up for staying with the original Shelby hood scoop, loosing the fogs and not painting it pepper grey with black stripes. :nice: :nice:
This is exactly what this stuff should be used for, to make your car something unique and original like the movie car was supposed to be, and not just another knock off!

good luck paintballtommy it's expensive, and long process, but definately worth it to work on, and enjoy once it's all done (I hope anyway lol) I got it from www.Mustangdepot.com check my sig for link you'll get there. It' expensive. Cost about $1,700 just for the Eleanor front upper, and lower nose sections, grills, Shelby long nose hood, Shelby headlight buckets. Lots of time / patience for the fitment of the fiberglass if you want it to look right. It's not anywhere close to being an exact bolt on. I didn't trust any shop w/ it so I did it all my self over a few months just when I had time. The front is off in those pictures, but it'll all fit perfectly.

Thanks Pakrat - I want my car to look nice and mean not silly. The Shelby hoods are perfect to me. I would never copy that paint scheme. Anyone that would build / paint their car exactly like Eleanor for themselves is retarted. Like I wanna drive around a movie car all the time. Knight Rider, General Lee, Starsky and Hutch, Eleanor no thanks. My chit will be nice and clean. I'm just running 302 r/w/b runing horse badges, and small one on the pop open gas cap.

I've considered putting a turbo kit on this car. I think 5.0's like what I have are easy to do, but since it's carbeurated to run a turbo it would have to have an ECU, and fuel injection right ? I'd love to have a turbo whine / whistle from this car. I don't know if my AOD could hold that power though, but I'm sure my C4 would. It only has 75 miles on it. I hate changing my mind on parts, and / or mods. Like $210 it just cost me to change the paint color of it to True Blue. Can't send the Atlantic Blue paint back :banghead:

Maybe another Novi - Is that more feasable for a non fuel injection car ? Wonder what a good roots style blower would be for that car, w/ an auto tranny and stall conv. What would ya'll do thats somewhat more econimical ? Built big block w/ spray ? I forgot what the gears are in that car. How do I find out ?

Here's all the car current mods that I can think of -
rebuilt 302 w/ ~30,000 miles
Edelbrock performer RPM aluminum intake
mild cam forgot the specs.
Carter 625cfm 4 barrel
Pertronix ignnition module (hate it), Flame thrower coil, 8mm wires, Bosch plaitnums
Hooker long tube headers, 3in mid pipe (no crossover section) to 2 chamber flows to 2 1/4 tail pipes w/ 3in chrome tips
4 core radiator / aluminum water pump
rebuilt C4 w/ ~75 miles on it
KYB 4 way shock / struts all set on most firm
Magna front 1in lowering springs / Magna rear 5 leaf rear lowering springs
GT 350 front sway bar and chrome shock tower support brace
Eleanor front / 67 Shebly hood 67 Shelby style tail lights (from a Cougar)
17 X 8 Edelbrock 454 w/ used 245/45's
new style R134 sanden compressor a/c system
New diamond Gold headlights w/ city lights, and Halogen Sylvania Silverstar super whites (huge difference)

waiting to install - built AOD w/ shift kit, and 2,500 Stall convertor, 4 new tires

Next mods- electric fan, starter heat shield, Randall's power rack and pinion steering, MSD iginition stuff.

i was under the impression that you can supercharge or turbocharge carbed motors. the only difference is in the way that they create the boost. the only problem i could see is boost referencing the fuel pump. i dont know how to do it but im sure someone would love to chime in with the right information.

i REALLY like that blue on the before pics, what color is that and who makes it? i too am restoring a 68 and getting close to paint process :D
don't remember exactly it's a GM color. Someone else onhere used accupolco (sp) blue that looks really similar.

Nice progress. It still looks like there is a fit problem with the hood sides and the fender gap. Might be a shadow, but it looks like the hood isn't closed all the way.
Yeah the hood is just not pushed down all the way. One of my hood hinges really needs to be replaced onthe passenger side - and they're not done with the drivers side of it.

That is why I so dislike the Eleanwhore phenomenon. My 67 vert has a black top and black interior. That means that any stripes HAVE to be black (unless car is black then I can use red). I have been wanting a silver car with black stripes for about 15 years. Now I am afraid to since every idiot at a car show will think I am part of the GI60S crowd!

Yeah, I couldn't of said that much better myself and am im complete agreement with both of you guys. The car belonged in the movie and I like it there as a "one of", but in real life, a GT500 simply can not be improved upon, more just makes it less. I too was interested in doing a gray or gunmetal and black paint scheme for many years, but would not dare even consider it at this point in time for Edberts exact same reason. Being an optimist though, I always try to look at the bright side and I think I've found it. Just think of how many Corvette guys will now be driving around with pride, knowing that the world will finally think there is a group of posers out there driving around who finally have a smaller winky than they do. :rlaugh:

Car looks great! Do you have any tire rub with that setup and if not what type of suspension are you running, I have 16's with major tire rub :bang:

None at all, but also I have very limited driving time in the car since they were put on so I can't say 100 % for sure. My suspension is soooooo stiff it takes a pretty big bump to push the front end down period. And if it did it would have to be while turning sharply to rub b/c my tires sit perfectly just inside the fender lip.

also -
KYB 4 way adjust. shocks all set on most firm all 4 corners
Magna front 1in lowering springs / Magna rear 5 leaf rear lowering springs
GT 350 front sway bar and chrome shock tower support brace
17 X 8 Edelbrock 454 w/ used 245/45's
