Well I don't know what the deal here...
My Stang eats alot of oil, and somethings it let out some black smoke... I never saw it but one of my bud saw me passing pass once when I pushed it hard and it popped a small black smoke.. it's rare thought I never saw it yet... And my exhaust tips are normal, not all blackish... I put like 3-4 bottles per summer... that's alot... Anyone has the same problem with their 95 ? She's not beaten up for sure, i take care of her alot.... and she has 90 miles.

Either your PVC valve is sucking up the oil into the intake or your piston rings are wearing out (assuming you don't have a leak some where which you would have noticed killing that much oil).

I don't think i have a leak, i always check my parking spot when I leave and there's no spots... I'm not a gearhead, how much time does changing the piston rings required ? Is it a thought job ?
thanks alot

It involves taking the engine out and if you have to take it out you might as well rebuild the engine. But first let diagnose the problem if you don't have a compression gauge buy one from Discount or AutoZone where ever. Remove a spark plug and screw in the fitting from the compression tester. Now disconnect the coil and have someone crank the car over a few times and see what it reads they should read from 140-175 psi's. If each cylinder reads with in range your rings are good and the problem lies else where.

if i were guessing i would point a finger at the valve seals......i had that prob once and the replacing the seals cured it.....if nothing else changing them is a cheap deal if you have the know how. good luck

cool.

well shes going in storage very soon so i'll check all that next summer
thanks for the infos..

Yeah mine used to used a quart every 3k miles or so. But i replaced teh valve seals and that helped alot. Then i changed the heads and it doesnt use any oil anymore. Accept the the drops from my damn rear main seal. Maybe next summer ill tend to that.
