So my fuel pump pooped out on my way home for lunch. When I got home I hopped on 50resto to order an new pump and suddenly I blacked out! When I came to I was staring at the invoice to... UPR kmember/arms W/ adj coil overs, MM CC plates, new rack and pinion with steeda bump steer kit and poly bushings, kyb shocks and struts, bushings front to back, ssbc sloted rotors and pads, wheel bearings, walbro 190 fuel pump. also going in will be a set of tubular upper/lower control arms and a new rear end with fresh bearing/seals and 3.73's I just built, 24# injectors, aeromotive FP reg. ordered it at 1pm today and it will be here at 1pm tomorrow. I'm going to start on it tomorrow and will work on it though the week and finish up this weekend. I'll post pics and updates along the way if anyone has questions feel free to ask!

Snag #1. I put the new rack on the k member and it want mount flush to it. The rack hits the bottom part of the passenge motor mount plate. Talked to upr about shimming it and they said it was common with some power racks, to just grind the plate some till it fits flush.

I have a pile of stuff removed from my first stang that got totaled by a hit and run driver. The King Cobra clutch & Tremec 3550 went in over the Memorial day weekend. The car sure does shift nice now...

Next on the list to be installed is the 3.55 Turbo Coupe rear axle and brake upgrade. I need to save up some $$ to overhaul the trac-lok & put a next axle bearing & seal in on the passenger side before I install the axle. Time and money just need to come together so I can do it...

Well everything came out nice, quick, and easy. I was happy as hell with the way things were going until........i went to install the new one in the tabs on the motor mounts are hitting a little on the perches, and the top bolt plates that mount to the base of the strut tower seem to be about an inch wider than they should be. And there is a gap between the k member and the base of the shock tower. I do believe with the help of a buddy, pry bar, shims, and a little creativity i can get it to bolt up.

Best of luck, I have read tons of poor fitment stories about UPR. I had a early D&D K member set up and it pulled my wheels in almost 1" per side. I finally pulled it off and spent the $$ on the complete MM set up. I suggest you measure everything from the stocker to the UPR, you may be best off sending it all back.

Good luck!

After thinking it over I'm going to use everything BUT the k member and send it back. I'll check the upr aarms against the stock one tomorrow. Anyone had any luck with upr aarms/ coil over kit with the stock k member?

that sucks to hear about the fitment issues. i have some UPR stuff on my car and everything fit great. a K-member is a little more intricate than control arms, a driveshaft loop, and whatnot though, lol.

Well my new Aarms showed up today. They fit really well into the stock kmember! I also got the MM CC plates installed to, definetly no problems there. Late model has been really helpful in figuring this K problem out, unfortinatley upr has not been helpful to them. but i did take the measurments off my oem k and im going up to latemodel on saturday to compare with more they have on hand. So hopefuly i will get one that is correct. but if that dont work out ill just be rocking the factory K with upr arms and coil over kit.

When I did my K-member and coilover conversion, I used all QA1 parts, and everything fit like a glove, did not have to grind, cut, weld or otherwise modify a single thing.

i n v u

you can just drive to late model resto and get stuff.

me it cost $55 from summit just to ship some EBC front rotors.

and $60 something from LMR

I was going to order carpet once. and it was going to cost over $100 for shipping.

lucky you live mainland.

good luck with the build.
