I`ve had this problem in my car since i bought it 4 years ago but now it has really started to piss me off. The bulbs are all fine but the blinkers are turning on and off too fast, and pressing the brake makes them even faster. Right is a bit faster than left, but the left side is way too fast too. What could cause this problem?

Right bulbs in all sockets? While 3157's and 3156's look the same make sure they are in the right holders.
3157 tail lamps, brakelamps and turn lamps
3156 backup only.
Also check your flasher under the dash and make sure it's fully plugged in. If the bulbs are in the correct outlets I'd try replacing the flasher, there cheap and easy to replace.

Ive seen the connection at the multifunction switch cause a similar type problem on other Fords. Tech before me replaced all the bulbs to no affect and then when I got on it, the connection wasnt secure. Easy fix.
