My brake light pigtail is different than everyones

So my brake light is constantly going out and I want to replace the pigtail. I called everybody but they all have ones with three wires, but mines five. Is anyone else’s like that?

In My Humble Peckerwood Shop Managers Opinion......

The good thing here is that you do not really need the 5 wire pig tail if the car is not running the police lights in it. I am sure that if you compare them side by side you will only need the 3 wires to use the brakes for every day driving. The other 2 wires probably provided the circuit for the flashers.

My tail light turns on but the brake light doesn’t unless I push down on the bulb or put tension on the wires. I tried looking for a new pigtail, and nobody has a 5 wire, only a 3 wire

Stupid me I keep thinking about the old style round based bulb.
follow the harness back to see if it has a connector farther down stream.
The kid is right (post above) you only need 3 wires to make it work. The other two are just doubled up right?

Same as any other car. I'm not home right now so I can't look at mine but I know it is the same as all my other cars.

I am still laughing at the idea of flashers with pig tails in a patrol car. It sounds like an incident report a state trooper would not want to write.
