my brake lines dont bolt up to the 99+ calipers!

hey all, in the process of doing 5 lug on my 93. I thought i read on here that i can use my brake lines on all 94+ calipers, so i went for the 99+ twin piston PBRs. Well, the brake lines dont even come close. Also, whatever the name is (i think banjo???) for the bolts that go through the end of the brake line, neither my 93s fit nor do my 95s (bought a complete spindle / front brake assembly from a 95). So im a little screwed here because now the car is down until i can get it fixed and i kinda need it for work on monday (o the trials and tribulations of DDing a cool car!). Obviously that wont happen, but i sure could use some help asap.

Cliffs: What the hell do i need to buy to get my 99+ calipers to work on my fox, with respect to the brake lines and bolts?

The Fox lines don't work with any of the SN95 calipers at all.


You can either buy aftermarket Stainless steel brake lines for a Fox Mustang.

Or you can use Sn95 brake lines using a Weatherhead 7828 fitting from NAPA on the passenger side. You can also use SS lines for an SN95 using the same weatherhead fitting.

Fox-specific SS lines don't need the adapter, and the slim heads will work with SN95 calipers



There are also two different banjo bolts for the PBR's. 99-00 used a fine thread banjo bolt and 01-04's used Coarse thread. Ford carries neither in stock and it will need to be ordered. You'll have to identify which thread you need to find the right bolt.

I have the pbr's on my 84, I used after market ss lines an the factory 99 banjo bolts. I got the 99 lines with mine but had bought the ss lines like a year before i decided to go 5 lug.

I have no idea where i read that. I suppose in my hours and hours of research i got a little bleary eye'd and started halucinating.

Of the options you listed, which would you suggest?

and, just for clarification, these lines are the ones that are about a foot long, and are flexible to allow for the whel movements, right?

Are you sure they are 99-00 calipers which means they are fine threaded. I beleive they would be M10-1.5 threaded. Not sure. What I did was take the entire caliper with me to home depot and test fit bolts i i found the threading.

Not that it matters, a parts store may have the banjo bolts.

i got the 99 lines an banjo bolts when i got the pbrs. I reused the pbr banjo bolts, the fox ones are a courser thread. The nice thing about using fox SS lines is they go right on the fox body hard lines with no adapter for the passenger side.

The right side doesn't fit. You need the PBR lines for both sides. The left side threads in. The right side you need to by a union. It is 3/8 female to 1/4 male. It cost me 1.37 at Advanced Auto Parts. It's been on my car for 2 years and counting.

The Reason I recommended the MM Stainless lines is because they are custom made to fit the Fox Cars without the need for the Weatherhead Adapter.
