it can be so frustrating. The poor guy loves my mustang and really wants a 65, but he can't find one for the life of him. It seems like he has scoured the earth for one in the last month and can't even find one for around 18k or less. Ive had mine for about 6 years and it always surprises me how much more these things cost every year! I figured i'd post for him and see if anyone knew of anything around that price range or less within around 500mi from Detroit.

Thanks!

If he can settle for a '69, I just spotted one for $10k on Collectorcartrader.com
It has damage on the hood, interior is shot, seats looks like Mopar E-body leather seats, and it will take some effort to put in shape. However, it is an S-code (390) Mach 1 with a Top Loader transmission. It currently has a 351. It also has GT hub caps that should fetch a few $ on Ebay. If rust isn't to bad, I'd say it's a ok deal. Original Big-Block Mach 1 for $10.000.
Fix it up a bit, then sell it, it could be a steppingstone to that elusive '65 Fastback.

ya know, if they'd used a wider t-top that had a smaller center section between the tops i'd drive the hell out of that fastback. i'd never cut a car up to add the t-tops like that but if it was done right i'd sure buy one like that.
