My car got F'ED up

well I was driving home today probably about 3 or 4 miles from home. Im going around a long turn and all of a sudden the car flys out 2 lanes, luckly there were no cars next to me, and my powersteering was gone and my battery charge dropped to the last tick mark. I was about to turn off and see what happened but the car wasent on fire, it was on and running, and I knew if i turned it off It wouldnt start again, its raining and im on the slicks, with no powersteering, car is overheating, and no batttery charge. I finally get home to find this....

I made sure I tightened all the bolts, looks like the lower bolt snapped, I dont really care anymore, I have no idea how im going to go about fixing this, new heads dont really seem like an option, maybe I can take it to a machine shop and they can fix it with the heads on the car. Im also not sure what that puddle of coolant is from, I dont like it though. I hate my life. I might just put the top bolts on till I can fix the lower one, because I need my car, but they may just cause the same thing to happen if they fail. AHHHH My water pump is probably toast.

If you waterpump is shot, dont sweat it. They are super easy to change in these cars

belt only got chewed up like an inch around the outside, i wouldnt be afraid to use it again.

Got the alternator bracket off and everything looks alright there, everything looks fine, just the one broken bolt, how would you guys go about getting it out? Worst case scenerio ill take off the heads and swap sides so that side is on the back of the driver side since the heads arent side specific, but id rather not do that, I found the broken bolt but the other bolts are MIA, I guess the other two came out some how and all the weight of the brakcet snapped the other bolt in my driveway, I dont know how the other bolts came out, I know I tightened them securly, guess just a thing I gotta learn to go back and tighten everything.

I misread, I thought you meant another car flew out of the lanes and you smucked it. The waterpumps arent too hard of a job, I wouldnt worry about it too much. Sucks though, sorry to hear that bro.

The coolant may be from the thermostat housing or where the intake meets the head at the front.

yea, just looking at the water pump dosent look bad, but pain in the ass, especially cause im broke and working 40 hours a week, dont wanna have to blow my money on this.

The coolant is probably from the tstat housing, I changed the housing a few days ago, pain in the ass to get to, so i probably didnt tighten it down enough, ill do it now, now that I have all this room

You can get a screw extractor kit. use the appropriate drill bit in the kit for the bolt, drill a in the center of the broken bolt, drive in the corresponding ribbed hardened steel shaft (included in the kit), then there is a nut that slides onto the hardened shaft, use the a wrench on the nut to thread the broken bolt out. Easy fix with the heads still on the car. And just remember to use lok tite next time.

At the time being, no. The insurance company is writing it off though, and they wont let him buy it back as a salvage. They also wont pay him out either. Theres a big insurance kafuffle happening because the other driver has private insurance so my buddy has to take a legal action to get his settlement, and in the time being the vehicle is still about 130 km away in a tow yard. Its screwed up...hes already shopping for a new one though.

Thats two notches that got totalled by him...

to mob, I always try to use loctite on anything that is subject to vibrations, not from RRs.

It wouldnt be to hard to fix man, get a drill bit about the same size or so, drill it out, get a tap and die set, rethread that sucker, and slap in a new bolt!

You may not have to re thread it. If the bolt was clean when it went in, it should just thread right out.
