My car has a pool!

It rained real hard last night, and when I went to get into my car this morning I had about 1/2 an inch of water standing in the driver's side floorboard. Anybody have this happen before? I'm guessing my windshield gasket needs to be replaced, am I right?

Could be your windshield is cracked or the weatherstripping is damaged along the door, but i would think it'd have something to do with the sunroof if you have one.

You don't have a gasket, you have butyl tape sealing it stock, urethane if its been replaced, and if it never leaked before, it is unlikely that it is now. If you think its the windshield, dry out your drivers footwell, take a hose, and run it on the top of your ws, just let it slowly flow down off the roof. If its the W/S you will know quickly.

Is your heater box filled with leaves and such?? If that gets clogged and fills with water, it will leak through your heater lines into your footwells. Also check your door seals.

Well, I don't have a sunroof. There isn't any water in the passenger side, and my windsield isn't cracked. My weather stripping isn't in real good shape though, guess that's it?

I get a "pool" of water in my driver side (back seat)...holder on the side where you can put little items at...and I have a sunroof that leaks at the sunroof clamp...I wonder if it is related?

same problem here. It leaks through the sunroof somegow and accumulates on a screw and drips down. It drips every few seconds. When my car sits outside when it poors my carpet gets pretty wet back there. Anyone know how to fix this?

Yeah mine drips every few seconds on the screw...I think you put a bead of silicone somewhere...but can't remember...

I wish I knew where the water was coming from to go in that driver side back seat "utility tray"...so I could fix it...anybody know what i'm talking about?

Well, I was driving the car today and got caught in a heavy thunderstorm. After a few miles my feet were wet. Did some poking around and traced the water running down the inside of the kick panel from under the dash. When I looked up I saw a large bead of silicone on that corner of the windshield. I'm betting that's where my leak is coming from.

yea i had the same problem with the left corner of the windshield, the seal was just old and the windshield hadent been installed right (beaner style if you catch my drift) it leaked down behind my dash, so i had it redone for 75 bucks and guess what...no more leak

Yeah, after seeing that goober mess, I'm pretty sure that's my problem.

My sunroof leaks a little bit after it rains, I'm thinkin about taking out the sunroof and putting a line of silicone all around where the sunroof sits so when I close the sunroof it creates a seal. anyone think that would work?

Hmm...well it might work but don't set the sunroof down before it is dry...

I would do it right and get some new sunroof seals...their expensive though

When my old sunroof leaked, it was because there was rust spots around the roof, which eventually bubbled so bad they let water in, which then ran down the headliner, and along the moulding on the inside that connects the A-pillar, and B-pillars, and acted like a gutter, where it emptied inthe the "utility tray" in the back seat, as well as on the front seats. Never again will I have a sunroof in an older car like a Fox.

Oh yeah make sure the 4 drain holes in the sunroof actually drain....

You guys think you have it bad.. I have T TOPS WITH CRAPPY weatherstripping!! When it rains,, I have the Niagara falls on both my seats and i have a blizzard inside my car int he snow! lol.. It sucks that the weatherstripping is over 300+ to buy

Cool! I had the same problem over the weekend. It rained hard during the week and I have'nt drove the stang for a couple of days. Then when i went to open the door I saw that the drivers side floor board was soaking wet! . First time It ever happened to me, My windshield is 2 years old. I posted a thread this week on the same topic. I'm gonna investigate on the winshield to see if the seal is worn off some how. Good luck to fixing your leak

Yep...sounds like my problem...but I ain't seen no rust...

And I happen to like my sunroof
